When I moved to Providence in 1978 the first place I lived was the corner of South Court and Pratt Streets. Prospect Park is just up the hill across the street. Spent lots of time there and exploring the East Side on foot. Never needed a car back then. I could walk downtown to the clubs ( I was very young ) and back up the hill without incident at all hours. All the cool shops were walkable, too. Thayer Street was the hot place for college kids and I did a lot of partying there, too. We were all artists then. I'd sit and draw in unusual places and nobody batted an eye. Now on the other side of the river, I gaze at College Hill from my window. The domes and steeples of those old buildings at Brown are gorgeous at sunset. Plus, I can see the green beacon atop the Superman Building. Love this old city. Thanks.
Excellent, thank you. I grew up reading Robert E Howard and Roger Zelazny. I am now a published author because of them. I had not heard this before. It is a powerful piece of writing, and you narrated it brilliantly.
guys this is not how history works. Advanced and prosperous lands also have good equipment and specialized soldiers who destroy and claim the "naked lands" as their own, becoming greater by using the resources that were useless to the "wild people." History is a cycle of the ubermensch conquering the world by diligence and skill and, importantly, by convincing the barbarian that they will be well served by working for the "great man."
What a pity! I so wanted to listen to this marvelous actor read this great story--but the loud, repetitive electronic rubbish is impossible to ignore. A terrible blunder and disappointment.
This tour took place a year ago; the many of us (including myself, obviously) were still erring on the side of caution, and doing it for the sake of easing others' concerns.
@@erebus79 Huh? We wore masks during the worst of Covid because we didn't want to get sick or make others sick. It was a choice. You may have enjoyed spreading germs but we are different around here. More civilized.
Wonderful, immersive drone footage of Providence! This is better than some professional documentaries on the subject I've watched. You've done HPL proud.
If it was a divine right they would have divine protection. I dont believe in the divine right of monarchy because there is no divinity and humans are ful of shit
