I used to live on Dog Beach in CA. These people aren’t doing it right. Everyone seems to have “brought their dog to the beach with them,” rather than “taking their dog to the beach.” Seems like a small distinction, but it’s quite obvious to me that these dogs aren’t interacting with other dogs… are mostly on leashes… and are wholly dependent on their owners to have fun, while the owners are interacting with each other, strolling leisurely, and only mildly interested in the presence of the dogs. They have all missed the point. Every barking dog is corrected, every free dog is told to “heel,” (more or less), I haven’t seen one bottle of water, and I don’t recall seeing one toy. Most of the people walk past like there’s a concession stand nearby. That’s just not how we did Dog Beach in CA. Is that really the best they have to offer man’s best friend? Let your dogs dig a hole or chase a tennis ball or frisbee into the water or down the beach. Let them explore, make a new friend, bark at a sand crab…. Literally ANYTHING besides being “such a good boy.”

Looks like great fun, but the problem can be the waves wash the dog poop out into the water quicker than you can get it picked up in your poop bag. Would be lots of floaters by end of the day. Yucky condition of a nice swimming beach.

Thank you so much for recording this video! It’s the best video I have found on RU-vid that is not full of slow motion and music for my dog. It is a good example of dogs behaving well in a natural environment with natural sounds. We are using it to desensitize our, crazy autism, spectrum standard poodle.

This is Zuke’s favorite TV show! We’ve had many dogs and do have other dogs. But I’ve never even known them to even notice a TV screen. But Zuke loves watching “DOG BEACH” on repeat! 😎🐶
