I discovered his as a kid. He was inspiring and gave me hope of a better world, without the people who make this world a worse place. He was a misanthropic humanist. This is a great show. He delivered some of his scripts differently here. He was always spontaneous on stage. I wish he was still here. If he was, so would a lot of other great soldiers who fought against oppression and the mediocrity of the system.
I'm going to make a list of every Bill Hicks political prophecy (joke) that came true over the last 30 years since his death. It might take me years to complete.
Bits about Poppy Bush and the war machine were spot on. Cant help but wonder if they took Bill out with cancer, Jack Ruby style. He would have seen right through 9/11 and the BS to come, and completely eviscerated W in real time. And woken too many people up. It todays terms: gotta silence him to save democracy! And make no mistake, they knew it was coming.
Starry, starry night Paint your palette blue and gray Look out on a summer's day With eyes that know the darkness in my soul Shadows on the hills Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breeze and the winter chills In colors on the snowy, linen land Now, I understand what you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now Starry, starry night Flaming flowers that brightly blaze Swirling clouds in violet haze Reflect in Billy"s eyes of china blue Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now For they could not love you But still your love was true And when no hope was left inside On that starry, starry night They took your life like the N.S.A. often do But I could have told you, Billy This world was never meant for one As beautiful as you Starry, starry night Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free They would not listen, they're not listening still Perhaps they never will🥲
imagine in the future bill hicks and others like him are remembered for pushing humans forward in their evolution but still remind us we are still one and created by God the almighty
The shitty liberal dystopia, in which men who are remotely traditional live in a sex desert has certsinly became a reality. The only problem is that the liberals of the 90s didnt somehow see coming is the democratic party would infact become the worst corporatist, globalist neofascists the worlds ever seen. The irony.
@@recoverylund I just wish that somebody could find and post the extended set he did at the Ninja Bachelor Party premiere in Austin. He did this whole long encore where all of his drunken buddies from Houston were "encouraging" him to do his old stuff like Elmer Dinkley and Dad jokes. At one point he got so frustrated about being a "human jukebox" that he did a thing where he slammed himself onto the stage and hurt himself pretty bad. He got back up and started yelling: "Damn it, the next time you see that I'm about to do something that's going to break bones up here and you know you're not going to laugh afterwards? Tell me 'Stop, Bill! We're not going to be amused so it's not worth you hurting your damn self!' Could you do me that much of a courtesy?!?" I know for an absolute fact that Kevin Booth was there, and he always at least audiotaped the shows when he was there, so there should be a recording -- unless maybe he was so busy dealing with the projector and everything for the film that he might have decided not to make the extra effort of trying to mess around with recording equipment as well. I dunno...
Thank you for posting this set!! Bill is brilliant, completely aligned with his essence as a being, and so much more well received overseas than here in the US. As an American here in the US, I am well aware of the mass ignorance, lack of consciousness, and lack of true spirituality in this country. Would love to see more content from overseas like this - thanks again! peace.
Wat would Bill think of today's comedians? Rogan approved, mediocre, unfunny BUT wildly successful. Talking about cancel culture 4 10min evry set. Bill's OK, but he's no bryan callen
... Yeah I wonder.. lol why do humans as a species (who we've been told got here by evolution and pattern recognition) continue to make detrimental decisions toward our longevity in the name of currency and profits. 🤷🏻♀️
The current state of the world has drawn me back to Bill. If only people like him and John Lennon were still alive, their voices are needed so much now !!
Bill ,paved the way and inspired many other comedians ,Frankie Boyle has stated that Bill was the reason he became a stand up , would love to hear Bill's take on recent times ,he was always funny and thought provoking.
