I really love this oracle but I don’t like that he has the element directions wrong! East is air-breathe and inspiration, South is fire-transformation and action, West is water-feeling and reflection and North is Earth-balance and wisdom. >If he did his research he would have realized that he has the element directions wrong! And all these directions correlate to the Archangels as well. Archangel Michael is South-Fire, Archangel Gabriel-West-Water, Archangel Raphael-East-Air and Archangel Uriel-North-Earth, so the deck is actually structured wrong. The elements are not going to change he actually could have looked them up and structured his deck correctly. This is disappointing to me personally.😢
What if the cards don't line up? For instance the new moon is on the 2nd of October this year and if that's card one my full moon lands on the 16th but it's on the 17th online and the newer new moon isn't till Nov 1 when my cards say it falls on Oct 30th.... So I'm just very confused. Thanks so much for your video tho it is still very helpful.
Just interesting info. Love it. I am literally just learning a playing card reading even though I knew about it for long time. I am definitely interested in catomancy reading and very interesting and this video is helpful.
She's in the third printing of Raven's Dream now. Will ship in December :) I'm still waiting on her to finish Garden of Enchanted Creatures. Seems to be slow going for some reason, I'm not sure if she's having inspiration problems with it or what, but she's also been very busy releasing a whole slew of other products, so that could very well be getting in the way of her finishing. I just wish she would finish it, it's been a while now. Was supposed to start shipping last month, but according to the updates she hasn't even finished the actual deck yet. I want to pre order the Raven's Dream, however, because of the delay with the Garden of Enchanted Creatures, I'm a bit hesitant now, same with the Crow Redux, I really want that one, but again, preorder and ship in October. *sigh* Love her decks though, I own many LOL!!
I have this deck and love it. The card stock is fabulous. Has a wonderful texture to it and I really appreciate it's durability. Doesn't feel cheap at all. Some decks i have are too thin. I also love the border - as it brings out the designs better.
While the majors in this is it’s own thing I find all the minors to be heavily Thoth inspired, in fact it matches Thoth very closely which I love. Embers are Wands and Birds are Swords etc
This is a beautiful deck. Though my favorite right now is the Holy playing cards saint's edition. It has Jesus and the joker cards are the holy spirit although they call them wild cards. The aces are also the archangels. Archangel Raphiel is the ace of hearts, Archangel Gabriel is the ace of diamonds, archangel Micheal is the ace of spades, and your guardian angel is the ace of clubs. Each card has a saint on it. It's been interesting building a relationship through the deck because there are lots of saints I don't know, and it's been fun to corollate why that saint would have been picked for that card. Such as Mother Terresa is the 5 of spades. Which makes sense for her character. Even though they revere her as a saint she had a darker side to her and wasn't the best humanitarian. She left loads of people in pain and in conditions not even health professionals today would allow sick people to be in. So, it almost calls to question is what you're really doing right now helping people or harming them which is almost a perfect fit for the five of spades. So, when certain cards show up you can look at the story of the saint or even the card meaning if you're stuck and meditate on how they all interact with each other. I've though since the holy spirit card is the speaking of Toungs at Pentecost to be you need to understand the story more. There's something that's not being communicated in an appropriate way. Ect. Plus, they have two of the holy spirit cards one black and one white. I've always viewed the red as God and the black as the destructive force or the devil. So, when the red shows up it's a good clear message and will give you hope. But when the black one shows up there's something wrong with the way were taking the message. People find it refreshing when you can give them a divination reading with playing cards and is something "unique" when they come to get a reading because their excepting to see the traditional tarot cards. Thanks for sharing this video.
It is awesome you mention Benebell Wen, I just bought her new I Ching The Oracle book and have gone down her channel rabbit hole. It is a bummer her course you mention is not avaialble any more.
I see that you haven't responded to any of these comments, but I'll ask anyway: is there another way to get the pdf for the deck? The link given above leads for a 404 error "page not found." I have searched for the author's name + pdf + ogham cards/deck, and cannot find anything.
Omg This video is pure gold!! I love history and the Origins of Tarot. Marianne Costa does an amazing research in her 470-pages book "The Tarot step by Step" ❤ Thank you!!
Although I do love Midred Payne's Pocket Oracle. I have had such an uuurgh reaction to this deck. Anyway, I just found a pre owned as new signed copy of the Deviant Moo and decided to give it a try after hearing so many positive reader experiences. . I'm just waiting for that large guidebook! Looking forward to working with it. I think it will be a deeply personal deck, though... there are such mixed reactions to the art... ❤ Thank you again for your fantastic walk throughs and impressions. I really enjoy your honesty and wealth of knowledge. 🙌 Oh wow, I just realised it's 8 years since you made this walkthrough! 😆 Although appropriate I guess as my deck is dated 2012. 😂
Kelly, this is a beautiful deck. The Star lighthouse... What a perfect concept for the Star. Yes! I will be ordering my copy this week. Congratulations! Very excited. ❤
This deck is on my wish list! Some reviewers express distaste for the backs but I personally love the unique shrimp-like creatures. Bright, sunny blue skies and lush vegetation impart a sense of vastness and space on the cards. The images are richly coloured with a twist of the abstract - almost Salvador Dali-ish in nature. The deck is consistent and stays rather true to the tennets of the RWS. The balance scales on the Night of Swords represent the astrological sign of Libra. The cloud person pouring water on the Page of Swords court card corresponds to Aquarius (swords akin to air signs). Check for other astrological signs that may accompany their respective court cards as well. Gorgeous deck! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! This deck! And that past, present, future reading! A real wake up call! Usually I'm not a big art deck person, but this is one that needs to go on my wishlist!
Gorgeous cards! I neeed the soul cards. Love that the women in the Anna K. are not stereotypically “beautiful” but are still worthy in their own right because of who they are and what they represent, not their appearance. We have become so desensitized to the typical beauty standard (and extreme thinness) in our decks (and elsewhere), that an average looking person (who ironically comprises the majority of our world) is almost offensive in an what is deemed an otherwise beautiful deck.
I know this is 8 years on, but my oh my, it was so beautiful to hear your thoughts on this amazing deck. I remember feeling so much depth in the 6 of swords card with that deluge of rain falling down. Everyone cries, including the malefactors, despite their abuse of power. Rain is so neutral and I love that as an image of oneness and healing. And the other card I immediately zinged with was the Hanged Man. Bats are renowned for their extrasensory hearing. Their eyesight isn't great, so they track everything with echo location, like dolphins, so even though they are upside down in repose, they are inextricably linked to everything in the dark by their hearing. It's a beautiful commentary on the interdimensional aspect to the card and hearing from within. Thanks for the beautiful video.
This deck is so beautiful!!! The Seeker! Patrick- “I need a Dragon too!”, and wallah! Purely gorgeous on so many levels! I LOVE the deck, the collaboration, the story of it all. ❤ Thank you Kelly and Patrick!!!
LOL he instantly needed his own dragon, it was funny, I'm like, sure, of course, let me grab that right away, my friend :D I am so glad you love it, obviously I do as well, so 1000% bias :D
Although this video is 3 years old, I am just now buying this deck. I have had Prisma Visions 2nd edition for years and was considering getting Mira Visions, but the changing cards feels overwhelming to me and I’ll start with the regular deck and I’ll wait on the Mirra.
This is one of my all time favorite decks and one of my most used, it is amazing for transitions and liminal situations, changes are occurring, patterns that are playing out in this life, or generational, or past life, etc. Love it, I hope you enjoy it!
She discribes in the book that all figures depicted regardless of what card you could show as an example are androgynous. Meaning they're neither male nor female in all technicality. One of the statements/questions asked in the book considering The Hierophant is: "Are your traditions and beliefs a source of strength and inspiration, or do they keep you from expanding your knowledge?" You will also find that she also drew on Norse Myth for the creation of the deck, of which I happen to be a Norse Pagan myself, and one of the most interesting things you find in Norse Myth is that the gods and goddesses shapeshift into other people, genders, and animals (i.e. this also challenges the idea once put forth by the Theosophist, Dion Fortune, that "All gods are but one god, all goddesses are but one goddess, and there is one initiator"); even Thor himself, though he never once shapeshifted as we can tell from what sources we do have, as the most masculine of all the Norse gods relunctantly cross dressed per the advice of Loki, to present himself as the goddess Freyja and Loki shapeshifted into Freyja's handmaid, to retrieve Thor's hammer due to the fact the giants had stolen it because one of the giants wanted the hand of Freyja in marriage. When it comes to the specific question as stated above, for better clarity, is: Do you automatically always just assume fairies to be feminine and project preconceived notions and ideas of what you want or think them to be onto them, or are you willing to accept what's presented to you and simply allow it to be what it is? I once heard on The Astrology Podcast, the astrologer of the show invited a tarot reader onto the show because he had learned that tarot has astrology within it, the tarot reader said "People have a hard time letting the deck just simply be." It could also be worded differently, challenging Dion Fortune's coined statement when going back to the Norse gods and goddesses, such as the following: Do you always just assume all the gods to be one god and all goddesses to be one goddess with one initiator like a Perennialist or even a Monotheist, or have you finally learned as presented by the Norse gods and goddesses that they can shapeshift and therefore there really is more than one god and more than one goddess without a single initiator presenting themself in different aspects or manifestations no matter how much similarity or overlap we may see between this god or that goddess and another or this pantheon and that pantheon? Cicero, Roman Advisor and Philosopher in his book "On the Nature of the Gods", argued that we should be much more careful rather than assuming that this god is that god and this goddess is that goddess and "these two pantheons" are relatives. And he argued this because these notions and ideas were beginning to pop up during his day and therefore is not a new concept in our own day. Just because we may see similarities and overlap at initial and misconstrued glance even between something like the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses, upon further research and inspection, we find they are not the same god and not the same goddess and this one pantheon over here is not the same as the one over there even though there may have been some adoption or appropriation here and there and may very well find the same god or goddess in both. This one question as first stated above can be applied to all areas of life. The way I have always worded it, because I have dealt with this problem my entire life with people around me constantly trying to turn me into something and someone I'm not and never have been, is: Will you only love someone for who you want them to be, or do you love someone for who they are? I do kind of draw on her question a bit to be somewhat of a public outcry, if not a direct public outcry by MJ Cullinane herself, considering the current state of our politics and a certain group of people constantly wanting to take away the autonomy of people so they can't be who they are. And not just specifically taking away the autonomy of women, but also of all walks of life and spirituality for all people regardless of gender or orientation, beyond their own preferred religion. Mind you I'm a man and identify as a man saying this, and yet I understand because I am Norse Pagan in light of what we're faced with currently, because we have the lessons of Dark Age and Middle Age Europe to know where the preconceived notions and ideas of the specific religion spoken of yet remains unnamed eventually leads to for all people who don't agree with them when they have control of everything: ostracization, oppression, censorship, hate speech toward people like ourselves and propoganda against us, and even to the extent of the worst you can fathom for anyone that's not them through their fear mongering, conspiracy theories, and narcissism. We thought we had moved past such things. But alas, it would seem we haven't, even though it seemed we had. Much love to you and yours. We will make it through these troubling times together.
I ordered this deck as well maybe you can tell me the books that you ordered as well on the herbal thing or astrology thing so I can understand this as a beginner
As someone who is just recently stumbling upon this particular deck, can I just say I am absolutely obsessed! I have long been looking for a deck that would fit the bill of an everyday carry for me, and this just checks so many boxes. I love that I can use it as a tarot if I want a tarot reading, a lenormand if I want a lenormand reading, so many of the extra cards I feel like I can just use as an oracle to play with my intuition a little, or I can just use it as a playing card deck to play some solitaire! I don't know if I can say enough about how intrigued I am regarding this deck, and I am so glad it was made!!
Aw, I love that so much, you have just made my day! I love her so much as well, she is a cartomancers dream because that is why I made her. I love to hear when the right person stumbles on the deck! Thank you!
Oh wow, this is another deck I bought years ago and never opened but mine didn't come like this. I only have a shrink wrapped deck. Made me wonder if I had a knock off but I checked and it's from the author. So I'm guessing it has a pamphlet inside since no guidebook came with. I have the 2nd edition. I'll open tomorrow 🤔
Ahh, I had heard that it was released again, but I didn't know it was just the deck! The original book was such a great one. If you get her full book, The Complete Lenormand Handbook, it just expands from this and is really well done.
