*If you still have the Priority Classic that you bought, consider an extended {longer/taller and set forward} fork assembly, and raise the seat post. That is a way to extend the wheelbase length.*
surprised the DGT 960 is out of production and not replaced by a newer iteration. Seems like a portable chess clock would be really useful for a lot of people - I certainly have been looking for one
Glad this got recommended, enjoyable and informative review and I like your aura, you seem like an easy going fellow 😄 Btw, we used to do the upside down rook as well when we played as kids in 90s Europe 😂 And thanks for putting measurements in metric as well 💪 Glad you got to use the new pieces at the coffee shop in the end 😄. Emisario natural looks thw best among the other naturals, imo
Hey man this was a pretty good review! I really never got anything like this and it was a learning experience. I used to mostly just play online chess and never got a physical board. For some extra information I got recommended this video while I was watching a jigsaw puzzle video. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to watch. If you decide to buy a set I have link in the description box. Once again thank you.
Forget it, absolutely suicidal. I hope you didn't pay more than $300 for that 3 speed with no brakes, WTH. Also hope you didn't raise the seat and stem past the minimum insert. That will break the frame. Don't be cheap, get a better bike.
I love 3 speed for city/commute riding. I actually prefer the fully automatic more on my Priority Oynx, but 3 speed is my next favorite with belt drive only. Never going back to a chain.
In less time you spent wondering why the extenders you got weren’t the ones advertised, you could have called, written, or emailed the company and ASKED them! Probably all three. I need extenders too but I sure as heck expect to get what was advertised. And if I don’t, I don’t just grab my ankles and say, “oh well. That’s life.”
And one in wood tone for us old school lovers (cause that clownish red is keeping me from pressing checkout, tbh.) I’ve actually emailed Dgt in Netherlands and they replied with “We’ve considered your input for a possible version II of this timer in the future. Thank you.”
I want to see the delay and time at the same moment. All ZMF Clocks do have bonus & delay function as well, which is obligatory for Backgammon and some of chess tournaments. ZMF's is sturdy plastic with metal sensors, ZMF Pro is metal case with metal sensors. The Leap is good for most anything & quite a bargain. However it's fragile, don't drop it. Battery is good for more than 3-600h on all models, ZMF says even 900h. There's an alternative for lightweight travel chess clocks not shown here: The DGT Travel Timer, formerly DGT 960. Delay, Bonus, Increment included. Fits in your chess or backgammon board as well. Tempest Clock is a matter of taste, since it's just a plastic cradle (or wood if you go for the 'luxury' version not available in Europe. It seems to have the best software (since it uses your very phone for the app), but it seems to be quite sensitive to touching (difficult cleansing) and will show signs of wear early in use. App license is unclear when it comes to change phones or account. In the higher price range, go for ZMF Pro, currently best out there.
That's a nice looking bike, built to be ridden every day without much maintenance. A useful vehicle first rather than a toy or sports equipment. Have a look for handlebars that go forwards and/or point more sideways to give you a bit more reach.
Oh no Big Lew! I was initially excited because I'm really into your bbq channel and didnt know you liked bikes as well! Be careful out there! I recently upgradedy safety gear after a few spills myself. Thank you for the content!
Hello Big Lew. You made mention of changing or directly adapting the Q factor of your pedals (pedal spacing). But when you showed your foot next to those crank arm, I thought to myself, "you'd gonna need longer crank arms". What's the length on that crankarm? Maybe 180s would suit you? Cheers!
That might be an option. IDK what the length is. However, I’ve modified the bike with beach bars, the ones that originally came on my Electra cruiser. I like the bike much better now. I got five and half miles on it this morning. The belt drive system seems to have specialized crank arms. I have pedal spacers on my Electra cruiser snd love them. The Q factor is now much better than it was before. I will fix the priority the same way.
@@biglewtoo6047 Wonderful! Kudos for modding this to your specific needs. I totally forgot that - about the belt drive system... probably using some proprietary crankarms, maybe not... if it's 175mm in length C2C (centre to centre, i.e. measured from the centre of the pedal socket to the centre of the point it attaches/affixes to the chain ring - well Belt ring in this instance!) If shorter maybe you could consider longer crankarms, but if they're a hassle being proprietary and all, then maybe you should leave them be if you don't have any discomfort with the length so far!
Well buddy i used to ride bike alot before i was in a motorcycle accident and almost list my leg. I had a 21 speed diamondback sorrento. Which i crashed several times lol! Glad your ok i love bikes too awesome video. Merry Christmas and God bless!
Thank you, I just want to cruise around leisurely for recreation and exercise. I don’t want to race, or go fast, or do stunts. I’ve made mods to the bike and I’m going to keep it now.
Great review. I got one to compare with my Wholesale Advanced Digital Game Timer. I ended preferring my Wholesale clock. I thought my wholesale clock had better color (grey), was more compact and the levers required less pressure to push. Review on my channel. The display on the Wholesale advanced clock is pretty good, the one on the DGT 2500 is a little larger and better.
Thank you, But dang fiddlesticks Mr. Lew, my spine tingled the wrong way every time you smacked them timers on that beauty piece of art woodboard! (12:01 - Ughh!)
It’s my board. I’ve had it twenty years or more. It hasn’t been treated kindly. I’ve raised my children around it. It’s a little younger than my daughter and a little older than my son. It has survived them and house cats and other pets. And several family moves from one home to another. I don’t baby this board. It’s scratched, scared, and marred but who cares. It’s my board i won’t resale it. Lots of family chess games have been played on it.
I understand. I wouldn’t dream of getting mine restored. Had it through heartbreaks, a divorce, etc. and I love how it shows the marks of time. (Would play drinking chess on it, At one point my bud and I may’ve done illegal drugs on it. Sorry! Different story)
Thanks for an excellent review. This is a superb clock. They have now added almost all the important features the previous models lacked. It's very nice now to have dedicated presets for popular FIDE controls 15'+10'', 5'+3" and even for the Armageddon! For tournament organizers this clock is also superb as it offers a forced move counter. Now it's not necessary to manually check and control if a player has made his/her 40 moves within the allocated 90 (or 100) minutes or not. The display has also improved. However, this clock doesn't specifically cater to the US market. Its main goal is for professional/international chess and it ticks all the boxes in that respect. Well, they could have also added some nice backlit display but that would have probably increased the price tag too much :-) By the way, I still use the Leap 9903 clocks which are awesome clocks. The Leap 9903 is almost identical to the DGT3000 in terms of functions and settings but it lacks connectivity for broadcasting games. However, I'm not a broadcaster and I definitely don't need such a feature. So, the 9903 was optimal for me. However, this new DGT2500 is the way to go! (unless the choice of preference is the USCF rather than FIDE in which case I'm not sure if it's an optimal clock).
