Please subscribe and I'll keep showing folk the beautiful island. Cheers. :-) Just me messing about chatting with friends, playing songs that I hear and like, and exploring the best places on the Isle of Arran, Scotland.
They are so lovely, Dave! So sweet, watching and hearing them munch! Here, I'm trying to fatten up the hummingbirds before they embark on their long journey.
Thanks 🙂the sand is a great for charging about on, nice and soft and if theres any wind, I rub fast with it behind me and then jog back for a recovery. Good fun
They always say it will benefit the local community and it never does. There will just be an eyesore in plain view not to mention extra pollution and the effect this will have on the under water environments and the sea bird population which is substantial. 6 species of British seabirds were added to the endangered list THIS WEEK! Helicopters arent going to encourage nesting are they? I'm guessing some kind of embarkation point with have to be built as well? I think this is OVER development for profit and btw, the Holy Isle wasn't turned into a major construction site which in itself is going to impact the environment substantially. 😕 This has the potential for being a disaster. jmho....(Why wind turbines when there is solar and mains electric??). 🤔 Thanks for the posting.
Yes, the Holy Isle tried to get wind turbines but failed. I susect if theyd been prepared to share some of the benefits reaped from the turbines with those who have to look at them from Lamlash, they might've had better luck. Thats what I'd do.
Palpitations - for a sec I thought you were saying Waverley was retiring! She has a special place in the hearts of all from the West of Scotland. I remember well the Sunday school outings of the 60s or 70s, and a few years later she even helped me winch a lassie. Many thanks for the video.
@@projectgold3114 Yes I saw that too in the first set of comments, but its still there. I agree, far too many holiday lets, we need more local housing instead
Kildonan is a stunningly nice beach and I am all for sharing it with the world. As far as Pladda goes, have at it. As a business model I have my doubts, because you're leaving a beautiful small island with all the attractions for a difficult to access smaller island with a token windmill whizzing around and a bistro. Helicopter is not exactly practical, and boat access would be a where? 1.5 kms to Kidonan Hotel I suppose. It's a fairly sheltered route so you probably won't get stranded by the weather.
You may be right. I'm sure they'll take the gamble though, having bought it and also submitted an application. We'll just have to see. I'm sure I won't be able to afford to go there! 🙂 but I think the island will still look beautiful in the end no matter what happen
@@davetheraverovingtherock As the saying goes "I ain't got no skin in the game" so have at it. They bought it for UKP350,000 so I guess they can't go too wrong.
Good to hear what's going on over on Pladda. It will cost a lot of money to get it up and running so whether it will pay off,I doubt it. If it only attracts the rich then it will cost a fortune as they expect the very best in accommodation, chefs and hot and cold running servants.
The RU-vid algorithm has reached maximum weirdness. If I didn't happen to be thousands of miles away and it wasn't after the time of the meeting I'd love to have been there. But thanks for posting the video (and YT: thanks for trying.)

I've visited Arran on numerous occasions. For me, luck is finding a video with no amateur commentary, with no commentary at all, only the spectacular scenery as a friend if it wasn't for bad luck. I would have no luck at all
I hate to admit it but for all the times I’ve been on Arran (my wife being an Arran lass) I had no idea that waterfall was there. As for the development: it’s too much in my opinion.
It's obviously dangerous to build there not to mention the damage to a local beauty spot. I wonder if this is the reason Pier House sale fell through...🤔 I hope locals object.
We hardly have any left. I'm told there is only one left for every one hundred that used to live here 5 years ago. Im going to work really hard with these ones and put a nest box in. And a camera🦔🦔
I'm happy. To be honest I'm happier than I have been for many years and not lonely at all. Just too busy for my liking, that's the only problem. I like singing :-) and that Hymn is my favourite
Nice to see your wee hedgehog pal who's gobbling up that food. How about Miss Piggy for a name. I bet it's a female and you're going to have baby hedgehogs.
Excellent video. It is always good to see PS Waverley. I believe that she is flying the special pennant to denote her status as the 2024 National Flagship of the Year of National Historic Ships UK.
There's a precious moment on that disembarking, a lovely yellow labrador, straining to get up the gangway, no doubt just busting to cock his leg on dry land.😂😂 Your recording of life and times is heartwarming.😊
