I would think this Red Shouldered Hawk would have eaten more of that squirrel if he worked hard to catch it. He could barely tear into the skin. This hawk didn't even attempt to fly away with the meal. If he would have failed due to it being too heavy, he would have stayed to eat. But something scared the hawk off.
