Nice Job! I have the 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed like the one you have... water is coming in from somewhere behind the fuse panel in corner.... any ideas how to remedy this ?
My grandpa had a 1988 4Runner and sold it a few years ago and it had 257,000 miles. He said he loved it, but he never really drove it anymore and it kind-of started to fall apart, so he sold it for $500.
Thanks for creating a video for this. I basically came up with a similar design but without the putting the permanent water feed into the basin....that’s a nice addition. I worry about the electrical safety of the pump and would made sure there is a GFCI on the circuit that powers the pump.
I would have done an over flow drain, that way the water could get to a certain depth before it drains back into the bucket, then you could add toy boats and toy fish with fishing poles!
Just my advice on the motor change you want, I have a ‘88 V6 and the power is ample if healthy, fresh motors can be had for 1500, mine has 284k miles and strong as new! I had bought new a 4runner and truck in ‘90 that had the V6.
I have also been looking at JDM 3VZEs, it will probably come down to which has the cheapest final price, although I wanted to go diesel for the mileage.
