Mayo Clinic in Rochester saved my life, I was born with Tricuspid Atresia which is an extremely rare congenital heart disease and my local doctors kept telling my parents that I was just delayed, they took me to the ER almost every day for 4 months after I was born, eventually my parents met with a visiting specialist from Fargo, North Dakota who noticed how blue I was while we waited in the living room. He asked my parents how old I was, and when he was told “4 months” he rushed us into one of the local labs for testing, and discovered my disorder and told my parents he would contact Mayo in Rochester……and my parents drove 7hrs south across Minnesota to head to the St. Mary’s ER. I should have died, but Mayo Clinic Dr. Francisco Puga from India or something saved my life.
Maybe people could fly helicopters to those hospitals, not only for emergencies, but just in general. Maybe that would save them time or reduce traffic going to those hospitals.
