Oh yikes! Sometimes you've got to wonder if it actually makes sense to the person on the other end who is doing the re-booking?! Hope it all ended well.
I like the idea of photographing your checked bag and its contents. I definitely agree about learning the basics of the culture and norms of where you are going and respecting them
Honestly, getting a photo while packing saved me when United lost our luggage last year. I was able to itemize the contents. It was just by chance that I snapped some pictures, but now I do it for every trip!
I'm so glad you think so! It's truly tough to narrow it down because there are so many great places to visit. I didn't even mention Santa Cruz ... Half Moon Bay ... and I know there are plenty of others! Thanks for taking the time to comment (and for backing me up on my "best of" list)!
@@iriswoohoo Oh yes ... both of those places. Amazing! Maybe I should do a California coast video and cover all the best coastal towns from north to the south? Sounds like I need to plan a "research" road trip! 😄 Thanks for the great ideas!
In my show notes there is a link. I’ll put it here as well. I believe it doesn’t provide a reduced fee but it allows you to set up your account, reach out to other members and finalize your first exchange before you pay the membership fee (essentially letting you try it out before you commit). I can’t recommend it highly enough! Some of my other videos will provide more explanation on some of the details. www.homeexchange.com/?Affiliates&KristenSimoes&ae=780
Thank you so much! I hadn’t noticed … But now that you mention it, you’re right… The music is a little loud. I wish I could change it at this point, but I’m not able to. However, I will be more aware in future videos. Thanks for the feedback!
@@almavaleria1 Thank YOU for sharing it! My goal is to make videos that people want to watch, so I appreciate you telling me what does and doesn't work!
That was such a cool tour! My favorite part was when we got to see Henry IV’s castle garden! It was so big and had so many water fountains and statues!
A great explanation about exchanging homes. Our preferred site is People like us home exchange. It doesn’t judge homes on size and allot points accordingly, all homes are equal whether they are a 1 bedroom bedsit or a 6 bedroom mansion.
Oh that's really great to know/understand. I've been thinking it might be helpful to create a video that looks at the differences between the platforms available. I love the equal points value. Thanks for sharing!
Hey! Great video. It is my 1st year on HE and I will have my 1st exchange in June. Used to go on AirBnb but this time, I'll have guest at my primary home. Getting ready for them.
So glad you liked the video! I'm actually working on an upcoming video specifically about prepping for your first exchange. I used to host with AirBnb as well. Home Exchange has been such a different experience (in a truly great way)! Wishing you a wonderful exchange!
Oh, thank you! So glad you've had great experiences (and I'm glad you enjoyed the video). We have had some wonderful, unforgettable trips through HE. I can't say enough about it! As for LA - any chance you're near Disneyland? We were actually talking about riding the train up to LA for a Disney trip!
@@TainaMix LOL - I should have clarified: we like taking the train up to LA (from San Diego) and ubering from wherever. So much easier than battling LA traffic! =)
Have never forgotten the Roman Baths there complete with ghost stories by guides..yes those Romans cant resist.playing in the lush pools when.tourists might be startled...also.fabulous place to pick up charms for your bracelet or to give as gifts...quite enchanting..ps we took a tourist bus if the train doesnt appeal..tea cakes and real Brit.teas..and accessories !!.ooh My...missing its unique charm!
Oh I wish I would have known there was a Roman Bath tour with ghost stories. I bet that was really memorable! So many beautiful - and interesting - sights to see in Bath!
