If you want sag just add a sag resistor on the B+ .. I've never been enamored of rectumfryer sag tbh. Some of those old amps when wound up it felt like you were playing with a delay pedal. In a 20w amp it probably isn't the best idea anyway given the bottom end in these seems a little looser than other models.
Cs3 and cs1 is garbage, i have a ota comp based in intersil ca3080e its really quiet and very very louder with sharp highs with 3 discrete bjt c1815clbl 5x c1815clgr 3x c1815oc greater hfe matcheds and two jfet no dual op amps! Onerr titanium compressor tc1
Since it’s only 20 euros more to buy the cr instead of hr and you can also connect it to a 16 ohm cab, is it still better to buy the hr? I guess they would sound the same through the cab?
@@PedalScience thank you so much for the answer. I guess for only 20 euros an extra speaker where you can just setup and play wherever you want won’t hurt!
hmm that is quite odd! I have always found they played pretty well together - there aren't many things that don't like a good TS boost going in! Possibly your BD-2 battery was low?
Can someone explain to me what does the "space hole" reverb actually do? I mean I hear somekind of modulation in the background, like a flanger or something like that. I used to mix out a similar sound with reverb and flanger.... in the past ffs! :(
Its based on Eventide Blackhole that has a kind of unique feedback algorithm that makes it sound really 'thick'. The actual modulation is just regular pitch shifting with control over rate and depth (although the waveshape may be somewhat unique as well). You can download a free trial of Eventide Blackhole www.eventideaudio.com/plug-ins/blackhole/
I miss when fender MIM were about 500. Nowadays they go for 989 to a thousand in my country. The cheapest right now are the Player series but i dont know which one to choose.
Rapaz é muita burrice !olhando aqui pra ver se alguém apresentarem uma novedades sobre esse pedal e o que os caras fazem é meter nos botones sem saber nada o que estão fazendo pô mano ? Paciência
I just started playing and want to get more pedals. I just have an overdrive stop box. So instead of buying a bunch of different stomp boxes, I'm really considering a unit like this. But, this is the 5th review on the ME-90 I've seen, and NOBODY has talked about the actual quality of the sound of the different effects in comparison to a dedicated stop box for each different sound. WTH? No one has every said: "the distortion is better, the same or worse than the BOSS distortion (DS-1) stomp box" for example. They spend most of the video talking about all the different parameters, options, etc..., which is informative, but the never say: "The common effects sound just like the individual stop boxes from BOSS..." This is so confusing for a newbie like me. I just want to jam and maybe form a garage band just for fun. As a beginner, I don't care about all the different stuff it has that are important to an experienced or professional musician. Can someone please tell me if the distortion sounds just like the BOSS DS-1, if the delay sounds like the BOSS DD-3T, if the reverb sounds like the BOSS RV-6, etc... Thank you in advance for any advice you guys can give.
Hi, I would say the DS-1 / DD-3T / RV-6 all sound slightly better but this would be hard if not impossible to notice in a band / jam environment. The ME-90 offers convenience
@@PedalScience way ! Actually, I didn’t know what it was. I thought it was some cheap thing. It’s the 9 V one. It seems like it’s from 1970. From comparing the board to other ones. It’s got these weird green capacitors.
I have both, and they do sound different of course. The DD3, besides the bass roll off, to my ears has a boost in the high mids too. This could probably be due to the pre emphasis filters. The closest I got with the Timeline was by setting the Hi Pass anywhere between 200-300hz for brighter repeats. What the timeline still doesnt replicate on the digital mode, is the natural degrading and compression characteristics of the chips in these pedals. Brad Paisley actually still prefers the DD2 to the 3 or the others, due the technical worse chips which were more lofi and introduced some natural compression. This makes a lot of sense cause another thing I noticed was that with the Timeline the first repeat seemed somehow louder and with my DD3 it feels more subdued. The Boss DD3 to me still is the best digital delay pedal out there, especially for distorted sounds.
Yeh the dd3 is excellent! I am also a big fan of the 2 and DSD models, although the headroom is a bit lower on those in my experience so certain amps fx loops can clip them a bit
This is fantastic man!! Definitely what I've been looking for! I've actually measure the Memory Man emulation frequency curves on the SoundToys Echoboy plugin, and the low pass filter is at about 2.4K (with a 3 db bump on the cutoff frequency, a bit of resonance/Q) You're right the filter slope on the memory seems a bit sharper than the Timeline. Did you by any chance match the rate/speed of the modulation? Would be interesting to figure out where it matches on the speed knob of the Timeline. Thanks!
I wish there was a multi effects where I don't have to be an engineer to use. I want a review where someone says "Wow...all the pre-sets were perfect and I did not have change anything"
I have the first version, dr100 .since 2005 . Same thing Inside just relabeled... It’s still going strong, but the lettering on the top of the pedal are completely worn away. I only use plate and modulate. I always talk about buying another reverb pedal. And then I say why,.. I’ve changed all my pet since then. And this is still the only one left. It’s amazing. I had the reverb machine once. But I sold it to get money to buy something else. This is one of the best behringer pedals they ever made , if you find a DR 100 the tone control has a better sweep than the DR 600. So look for that one.
I used to use the ME80..until i got a Kemper .... but i would still use that thing..learned to put a dummy headphone type jack in it and it engaged the cab sim in it and it sounded really good..used the metal setting with delay and harmonizer directly into daw/frfr..and it sounded great for shredding ( sounds like crap without the head phone plugged into it) .. made a not that great youtube vid just improvising on it several years ago..( ARCH KARR)..i think in was intended to plug into front end of amp/cab..( and have cab sim in headphones.) but plugging in chopped off head phone jack into it,let the cab sim come through to daw/ frfr..sounds killer. Dont try that without the plug..you'll hate it like i first did.. i was like..wuuuttt..sounds like crap..lol
We need some quality valve preamp pedals, bit like Victory Kraken V4. I don't want giant heads and cabs everywhere taking up space. Every amp head is basically an expensive one trick pony. But I'd happily have a handful of valve preamp pedals on my desk running into a cab IR loader. Best of vintage and modern workflow combined.
For sure! The Kingsley stuff is also great. I still enjoy running real amps + a load into IRs, but running just a preamp obviously makes more 'sense' and can be better for really tight tones
no problem! I have a part 2 planned, hopefully to cover the production side of things i.e to get from the dev board to fully fledged pedal production using FV-1 chips
