There's a reason why amps are square. SO YOU CAN STACK THEM!!! Literally just put that same covering and speakers in square enclosures and it's instantly more practical. Also, that wonky asymmetrical shape to me looks like it'd be harder to carry and move, which matters when it's 40 bands
Jens is a visionary who makes amazing instruments. He may be MORE of a visionary genius marketer/huckster of sorts. He made "The world's most expensive Bass guitar" by blinging them up with jewels. Instant luxury branding. A tacky approach in my mind, but it worked! He sold the idea of his instruments literally being art with flowery talk and arranging museum exhibits. Again it worked! To be fair, very bold aesthetic choices go into Ritter's instruments, so that helped pull this off. More power to Jens. Now we're seeing these tactics carried over to this amplifier: Distinctive shape. Bling on the knobs. Gold on the hardware. Displayed on a pedestal in an art gallery. Only touched with gloves. Again more power to Jens if people are willing to pay the 40K. What DOES bug me is the scarcity tactic, selling "The FINAL tube amp" idea. "We heard rumors the EU wants to ban tubes". That was proposed in 2017 for 2019. I cannot find any evidence this is a current EU issue. Currently there IS a ban on RUSSIAN tubes as a sanction. Even if a full EU ban was going to happen, Jens's response is to put existing tubes in a financially inaccessible product?
Beautifully designed tube amplifier. I’m so tired of the governments wanting to ban things. Banning Tubes! For God’s sake. Tube amplifiers sound so beautiful.
Even if I was Elon Musk I'd still find it had to justify spending $40,000 of my space research money on a guitar amplifier. I don't even think the owner of the Colts wants this.
Don't worry, Bonamassa is going to buy all these up so nobody can play them but they will be forever preserved as the most garish, chintzy and costly amps just because fuck you for being poor and blah blah... Boomer culture really fucked the world over, please go away, like seriously...
Do I get a large sign that says I am irresponsible with money with a purchase? And maybe some speech classes so I don't speak in a way that clearly reflects buyers remorse?
