I am a hobby and art enthusiast who loves to share information that may help other people with their paint by number (PBN) projects, diamond paintings, quilling, adult coloring books, scratch art, dot mandala, Zentangles, doodle art, and so much more! I have an art and design background with custom framing and photography, but I'm now unable to pursue those ventures. I have found that sharing my passion allows me to curb my stress and anxiety, it brings me happiness and joy to offer you free content with demonstrations, tutorials, reviews, product information that may aid you in your mindfulness journey, as well. There is no ink and this kind of printer, because it is a thermal printer. I have no idea how this technology works, I just know that it does. 😂🤷🏻♀️ It uses some kind of thermal imaging to apply the image to the paper or label, which is why it’s only available in black print. That’s one of the reasons I love these kinds of printers, because I never have to mess with ink!
I recently ordered from Craftoria also. Took about 15 days to get the order, and I also thought it was a U.S. based company. Found out all was being shipped from China. Looks like good quality kits (got 3 with the one free deal). Haven't gotten started on anything yet because I have another one I am finishing up first. Other than the rather long shipping time (especially since I accustomed to three day shipping), I can say I am pleased with what I received.
Great question, so I went to look it up on Amazon. The only thing I found for this particular model was the adhesive-backed labels. I did find that this company, Phomemo, had two mini printer models, the M04S and M04AS, that take a non-adhesive thermal paper. Those prints 2-4” wide. They also had a larger model that could use thermal paper, as well. The M832 model appears to print as large as an 8.5 x 11”. I’ll put the links for those items in the description below the video, because I’m not allowed to share them here. ☺️
@ediths.q.3097 no problem! I posted those products and links if you need them. They are under the first set of printers & labels. Have a great day & weekend!
I always include all the links in the description below the video, but since this one is older, it might need to be updated. My website is melaniebscreativesupplies. com. 😊
I actually have more experience with boards more now than I did when I recorded this video, and I personally LOVE them! Schipper brand has super thick boards, and I find that framing boards are just as easy as canvas…although very different. I think it is all about what you get used to, but I definitely don’t have a preference much these days…as long as the paint is good. 😊
I decided this morning to make sets available as well as singles! I also discounted the set by 10%, so you will save by purchasing them that way. In addition, if you purchase 16 or more singles, or you buy two or more sets, you get a free storage container too! ❤️❤️❤️
I just recently did a video with 3 separate recipes to make your own flow improver {Flow Aid} just in case that happened! I hope this really helps you find a way to make it work for you 🥰❤️. Thank you for watching my videos! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-occQji9_ZKY.htmlsi=eXIdl0vy5B1tZEcl
@@MelanieBsCreativeStudio yes I think so. It’s just that you sounded different than usual and it sounded like the difference was in the technology, that’s all.
Right?! Same! 🫢🤣🤣🤣 Mine is shameful, and my kids! 🫣 I mean, they’re adults, but no one would ever know they weren’t allowed to watch PG-13 movies until they were 13, and I had watched them first to confirm the content…and that I never swore in front of them. 🤷🏻♀️ Then I guess real life happened, and it was like, “Oh, WTH?!” 😂🥴 Glad you liked the video! 🥰❤️
Thank you ! Love your videos for a looooooong time ! I already was on your channel when you discovered Schipper for the first time and it’s still my favorite 😂 because you were so excited ! And look at you now, blending them beautifully ! I’m obsessed !
I still LOVE my Schipper PBNs! I wish I had the time to paint them all, because I have a huge collection. 😍❤️ Thank you for being such a loyal viewer! 🥰
This video is 3 years old and I am just now following you 6/7/24 and when you said that was your son I gasped with emotions. I've learned so much from your videos today and Melanie I am so, so deeply sorry for the loss of your son.
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️ I’m thrilled to know my videos have helped you in your PBN journey. The loss of my son is what led me down this path, so I know everything happens for a reason…whether it’s good or bad. Thank you for watching my videos, it means the world to me!
I've done 3 Paint by number to date and had NO idea about Gesso! Mine is getting delivered today and I will prepare my newest canvas. Oh the white little dots drove me goofy!! LOL. Some of the paint by number kits were better than others. But it sure looks like Gesso is gonna just make painting so much easier! Awesome video Melanie!
Those little dots use so much paint that I couldn’t stand it! I refuse to use more than one layer of paint if I can help it…{call me lazy, because I can be. 🥴} I just cannot paint anything now without my Liquitex clear gesso! The texture takes some getting used to, but I can’t paint without it.
@@MelanieBsCreativeStudio After purchasing my Gesso and starting my newest paint by numbers this week OMG.. what a difference and having the Flow now! And now I cannot paint without the Gesso as well. "Dots NO More" LOL.. Blessings to you Ms Melanie !!
You can do it however you’d like to on your own painting. I demonstrate on my painting the way I want mine to look, and it is up to the viewer to take the instructions and use their own technique to create their own outcome. Everyone has their own interpretation and opinion of what looks good to them…that is where the saying originated: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” ☺️
How about outlining the section your painting with the 2 colours, barely touching , then with a clean brush sweep down in between the 2 colours..also, when you did the zigzag method, I couldn’t tell if you were doing a zig zag or little lines one way with one colour and the other colour in between the lines in the opposite direction
I am demonstrating “The One Stroke Method”…where you pick up both colors and apply “one stroke” to get the best blending at one time. The purpose is to try to simplify the blending process for viewers who feel they do not have a background in art or who feel intimidated by blending. This is the most simplistic approach to creating variations of gradients and by adding extra strokes to the demonstration, I would be defeating the purpose of trying to keep it simple for the audience. I have a saying I use in half of my more recent videos…”You do you, Boo-Boo.”, which means you take what I show in my videos and make it your own. I only demonstrate my way…not the only way. I record these videos to try and give people the confidence they need to try something new and to relax and enjoy the process…not for those who are already stressed at the idea of attempting to blend for the first time to overthink it.
31:41 Are you saying that before you applied any colored paint at all you did a white wash, then clear gesso, then sand? And you regret sanding? So don't sand?
Wow, thank you so much. Make a HUGE difference. I have not started a paint by number yet. I am watching a few videos for tips first, so I am prepared. I always use a primer before painting on baskets or frames. Primer is so vital. I never thought about primer on a paint by number until this video. Thank you.❤
You are so welcome! I never paint any PBN without my Liquitex clear gesso. It just seems to grip the paint sooo much better. You’ll have other people advise that it’s not necessary, but the ones who do use it, swear by it.
I bought a floral from craftoria. Its nice. Paint a little thick, I added flow aid/water. Some are translucent. Some are ok. In my opinion, the price is a little too high . Ten dollars more than what I have purchased elsewhere that is similar.
Those earth colors (all of that glitter) just pulling me into each pot! Just stunning & have tried painting with metallic acrylics but felt feel short of my expectations (coverage difficult at best) but these are a must test out 😍. Keep that cauldron in a secret place as magic comes from it!
Ohhh, you wait till you see the Glistens & Glitters. They are stunning, too! 😍❤️ They’ll be coming up in separate videos & oh em gee, I can’t wait to show them!
Thank you so much! These are addictive to make, and I can’t wait to show everyone the “Glistens” {sparkly version} and the “Glitters” {super holographic & sparkly ones}!
so glad you did these videos i did my first and it was hard to cover it and i got a ? about small spots together i love coloring but my first paint by numbers but had hard time out of the small spots that was together to get it to stay in the lines so help with ideas or that just comes by more practice thand
Everything I talked about is in my shopping lists on Amazon in the description below the video to make it really easy to find. I also put those lists on my melanieb.info website, but I do see both cases I had added are currently unavailable. 🫣 I shopped this morning and added another option to my list, so I hope that helps! It took a while to find one that had the tic-tac containers and not round ones. I don’t think YT will let me add that link here in the comments, but I will add the direct link in the description under the video for you, so that you can find it quickly. The item is also now added to my Amazon shopping list too, which are also in the description. ☺️
I’m a digital artist and wanted to use my original artwork in a PBN. So, I ordered a custom PBN kit from Craftoria earlier this week. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly. I did notice that their address has changed from Illinois to Albuquerque, NM on their website.
Ohhh, that is interesting about the address change! They are definitely located in China or another country, so no matter where they say they are in the US, they don’t appear to be located here. Again, I don’t mind buying from a company from out of the US, as long as they are honest about where they are located. Being deceptive and unethical business practices are huge red flags for me with my 6 years of experiences buying PBNs. 🥴 On a more positive note, since I recorded this video, I had ordered another 6 kits. It took a little longer to receive them, but they all had gorgeous paint swatches. I still never received a response from them after my 5 attempts to contact them. Other members on my FB group received responses, but I did not, and that was before my video was published. I am very curious about your custom painting and how it turns out, so please lmk the results!
Yep, because these are the best! I have to make money just like everyone else in the world, and why not do it by selling and promoting the best products on the market? 🤷🏻♀️😉 I research and find the best products that are available, and then buy them to sell at my online shop. How do you make a living? Do you expect to go to work for 60 hours a week and not get paid? I get so sick of you self-entitled, POS trolls expecting free content and thinking YTers who make less than $200 a month should not receive some means of secondary income. Check yourself before you comment on my videos, because I’ll call your •ss out and embarrass you and your ignorance on my future content. 😉 I’m never “the one”, so go back under the bridge from whence you came. 😊
Your video is wonderful. I happened to have purchased from the same company. The board looked like it hadn't been cut deep enough. After watching you, I understand why it was not very deep. You also thoroughly explained how to do everything and I mean everything. Thank you!
