Secondly mary told pastor rob about it which is not good they all said they would keep their business too their self.Mary should have kept it as family business it’s non of the churches business what goes on in their family . Georgie was raised in the church although he is not a member he wasn’t in the church. It was wrong for the church to turn their back on them and gossip about the family circumstances they were in and say bad things behind their back. I did not like how the church excommunicated their family.Mandy is 12 to 13 years older than georgie. Georgie was an idiot for lying about his age he was really young so he lied about his age in order to date her instead of telling the truth she would have never gave it a second thought if she knew he was 17 and she is 29 near 30 that’s 12 years. The fact with them not being married caused the church to push them away and turn their back on them. Mary only wanted Georgie and Mandy to get married because she was under the impression that other people think badly of her family as a whole and blame their family the family was the talk and gossip of the town. I feel like Mary pressured Mandy and Georgie to marry when they don’t want to. Young Sheldon is set in the 1980s where having kids out of wedlock was looked down upon by the church as immoral and shamed shunned and criticised anyone who is pregnant outside of”holy matrimony” premarital sex was a negative and bad thing as they was more traditional those days and society those days looked down on unmarried parents especially the women had to bear a harsher brunt of ostracism criticism and harsh judgment from society and people around them. They were super conservative those days😢 and took the bible to heart. I like how Georgie family was supportive instead of pushing him away and casting him aside I’m glad they still wanted to associate with him I know they wasn’t pleased with the family circumstances but in the end they had to come to terms with the family situation. Mandy parents on the other hand did not accept the facts that Mandy is being pregnant on unmarried at first it took them a long time to come to terms with the situation eventually they came to terms and it took a long time for them to talk and communicate with their daughter Mandy again after a long time ofexcommunication and cutting her off from them.

Something that people seem to either be forgetting or not mentioning is that a few episodes prior to this, Pastor Jeff said that he himself was a wild child who did his fair share of bad decisions before becoming a pastor which makes this scene worse.
"The boy's parents are very upset." Well, Pastor Geff, Missy and her family are also very upset. How come you care how that boy and his family feel, but you don't care how Missy and her family feel?

That was so wrong. Mary helped out the Pastor and help out at church for many years and this is what she gets? Getting stabbed in the back cause her son got an older girl pregnant and her daughter punching a kid for making fun of her family. It’s stuff like this is the whole reason I stop going to church and stopped believing in religion cause everyone is using it as a business and cult too. It’s sad but true, we were all on this earth to love one another not cast aside another person for doing something different.
Mary does realize one main practice of Christianity is not to be judgmental, right? Also, it’s times like these were Christian’s need to come together and offer love instead of resentment. I have never felt an ounce of resentment from my Catholic Church
The irony of all these people judging all Christians as judgmental hypocrites based on the actions of fictional characters in a show that was obviously written by people who dislike Christians is not lost on me.
This would have been more believable if the church hadn't previously looked the other way when Pastor Jeff got divorced and then remarried quickly thereafter. In the 80s getting divorced would have ended a pastoral career, and then getting remarried would have ended any chance of any sort of church leadership.
How does one think that they did nothing wrong when they try to push someone down, Georgie was 100% wrong not to telle Mandy but he stayed and took charge. Big man thinks that he knows how to coach football by spreading money. Religion is like 180 all the time. Stick to your faith or be damn.
I like the most here that Robb is the one who defends Mary. Its ridiculous how all tĥree call him out on this stupid idea and him not respond. I get Mary's desire to serve the Lord but I cant believe that Robb chooses banishment over forgiveness

It's hypocritical judgmental egotistical people like him is part of the reason why the future generations turn their backs on religion and god as a whole.
