i stopped maining BLM in heavensward. Trying to level it up again in DT and i feel so lost sometimes lol. It used to be so simple but every time that add a skill, the rotation gets constantly reworked
TY for the POV, I find that my dmg is low for the 2nd half of this fight. Looking at the way you do the fight helped me figure out ways on doing my 2mins to make sure I don't lose a rainbow drip proc.
So I finished the current savage and got lucky to get BLM weapon. I never have tried BLM and has always been a healer person. I wanted to try BLM for the first time. How difficult is it tk learn? If you have an advice aside from going to the Balance. What would it be?
I loathe that Flare Star gets its own gauge. It should stick red sticks in where the Umbral blue sticks go (then illuminate it ignite them for 4-6). Thunder proc should also live on the BLM children's toy box instead of being a status that can fall off.
I wouldn't mind if they removed the dot from Thunder completely. Could make it a 30 second cooldown or maybe lower the potency but give it 2, 15 second charges. I always thought the job identity of BLM was big meaty hits and dots are the opposite of that. Thunder thematically doing damage over time also bugs me a bit.
RGB is still important because it generates Holy charges. On a target dummy there's no reason to use it but in a real raid scenario there's plenty of situations where you need to use Holy instead of RGB for movement.
Get rid of the astral/umbral timer or make the job straight up the most powerful dps in the game every single patch with no misses, no reason for that much stress, effort and being punished over a very tight timer and convoluted movement to be just mediocre-DPSing, I think the first option is terrible and it's the whole point of the job, then why this isn't the most dps in the game by far yet? Honestly flare star sucks a massive dick, you lose it when you change it to umbral ice so it's an insane punishment, you lose thunderhead/astral fire with this job on a timer when you get in some cut-scene transitions and gets massively punished, when you need to move and you don't have insta-casts and your timer is around 5 to 4 seconds guess what? get ready to get punished using transpose and lose your fire IVs, despair and flare star and your wife and children and your house now you are homeless good luck And if with all this mind-fuckery and stress during astral fire you dare to die? good luck doing less damage than a mosquito while a dumbfuck with a pencil press 1 to do damage and does 5 holy + 2 dashes and rides a F1 car to move and do more damage than the entire raid.
Hi I find the burst window insanely tight and it's pretty frustrating not weaving or clipping l, half a sec to squeeze in rainbow drip is there anyway to improve this ?

A very educational and great video! I've learnt a lot from it! Thank you so much for putting this up! There's only 2 question I had in my game play for 2.48s GCD: 1. Can you use Star prism as your 1st GCD in burst phase for waving? 2. Can you single wave OGCDs after each Subtractive Palette Combo in burst phase? I barely noticed any differences, but I dont think people really do that and I wonder why.
Making flare star instant cast would be really nice. A lot of the times I find myself drifting manafont purely because the flare star cast at the end of fire phase. Making thunder proc 40 seconds also sounds like a reasonable change. As far as potency goes, I really feel that flare star shouldn't be so much lower potency than xeno. Not just from a balance perspective, but also because it's literally our lvl 100 capstone skill. It should have the big flashy numbers to represent that on a job that's supposed to be *the* selfish dps. At the very least I wonder if it would be a good thing to make flare star auto crit like Samurai's Midare. Finally, the astral soul stacks need some kind of rework. Maybe add an effect to transpose that locks in the stacks through ice phase? That way you can keep the stacks during downtime or otherwise need to emergency swap to ice phase because you messed up your rotation or something? It gives the system some amount of forgiveness that's sorely needed. Getting punished because the fight itself has 15+ seconds of downtime is just not good design.
They need to give a heal maybe even do something like adding it to Manaward as a kind of “sanctuary” type effect reduce damage and heal slightly or where ice recovers MP have fire ( with some restriction) slightly heal. They should also add a second charge to Ley Lines or lower the cooldown. There are a few things they would need to do to LL to make it more useful ( make it work for others, be able to slow the timer if you are standing in it or something) they could also have it work to where you cast both charges at different locations and you can teleport “ between the lines”. Redraw should refresh the timer as well if they don’t add a second charge. That could be our utility spell easily but they probably wont do it.
I dont know why people say FF14 has better balance than WOW. wow buffs and does updates much more often ff14 only does them on their pre planned patch days which can be months apart. On top of that FF14 has significantly easier time to balance stuff yet they consistently fail every expansion.
I like thunder being insta cast but let’s make it an ogcd move no cast time so with the tight cast windows I can still cast or change phases any time without losing the proc Also make flare star stacks stay so I don’t lose ‘‘em during phase transition Maybe from 720 to 780/800 potency for flare star so it feels better to cast Also enochian 35 % incoming
I think we should all be focusing on the fact that ice mage blm is now a thing with blizzard iv / freeze not unlocking your timer and thus being unlimited cast. Thank you squeenix very cool
