@@shanewalker2257 Hi Shane thanks for the positive feedback. The towels are Tek Towels large bought from Anaconda. We have found them so handy and they dry quickly. Thanks for watching Ken and Julie
Another good use for pool noodles is to cut a full length spilt into them and then wrap around and secure with cable ties on your plastic pipes under the van as it helps prevent rock damage. I have watched many travel videos and more often than not at some stage most suffer from water loss or similar due to dirt road driving causing rocks to flick up and damage pipes and/or wiring.
@@kadachiman7234 Thanks for watching and the tip. I agree, it is a job i need to do. Very little cost, no weight, definately need to do. Appreciate the feedback.👍 Ken and Julie
I understand the need for booking ahead as WA is very popular (which is why WA camping is so expensive compared to other states.... because they can) but it dampens the travelling experience as you have to work to a schedule which to me is a joy killer (might as well go on a group organised tour). I encourage every traveller to spend as much as you can afford upfront on a decent solar and lithium battery setup as it will end up being much cheaper as you can free camp 80-90% of the time. Water is available at many places to fill up e.g. service stations or the traditional once a week stop at a Caravan Park to do laundry, etc. I have 2.75KW on the roof of my mobile home with 400AH @ 24V lithium (equal to 800AH @ 12V)...with an additional 3 x 400AH @ 12v setups in my towed enclosed trailer that are used to supply the mobile home when low. Overkill????? hell yea.... but I rarely stay at paid camping which saves a bucket of cash when travelling. But the major advantage is NO SCHEDULE ......if I find a spot I like I can extend my stay without worrying about bookings, and if a place doesn't suit me, I simply move on without worrying about wasting camp site fees as very few will do refunds (even if arriving late e.g. 1-2 days....most will not give refunds and/or credits even if they have leased out the site again due to your no-show) Edit - example using your budget it is estimated that you will spend $15Kpa for site fees.....that can get you a very hi-spec solar/lithium battery setup (lithium due to weight restrictions and overall better power availability)
@@kadachiman7234 Thanks Kman, i couldn't agree more. I have always hated booking ahead, nothing worse than finding a beautiful spot and can't stay because you have bookings you need to get to. We have invested in more power now. 4 x 120amp lithium and 900w of solar. Will have to do a lot more freecamping now to justify that cost.🤔 Ill give it a good go.😄 Great to here other travellers thoughts on these things. your feedback is appreciated. Safe and happy travels Ken and Julie
Do you know the name of the corner bracket thing you got for the shower. Looked it up and can’t find them. Also, do you worry about the rubber marking the floors from the yoga mat??
@@livingtotravel4290 Hi, thanks for watching. Rv storage shower bar or caravan shower corner bracket, should get you results on amazon aus. We have had no problems with the yoga mat leaving marks on van floor. Hope that helps Appreciate the feedback Happy and Safe travels Ken and Julie
Fantastic tips. Thank you. (loved the blooper reel also!) You have a lovely van. We picked our new one up today and I know we'll be using a lot of your tips. Cheers, and happy trails.

Hi Ken & Julie Very much enjoyed the video lots of great ideas. One question I have is the item you use to stop bugs getting into your tap on the A frame. I presume you use a joiner fitting and seal off one end. My question is how did you seal the end off? I look forward to your reply. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. Cheers Peter
HI Peter, i blocked the ends off with conduit pipe end caps bought from bunnings. 16mm i think! Hope that helps. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated Ken and Julie
Julie, so loved seeing you have such an active role in this video. Well done. We really appreciate that you have done this and know how hard it was for you. Thank you. (It really gave the video a much more balanced feel.) Brilliant tips, too! We've been 2 yrs on the road now and still picked up s couple of new ideas to try out 😀.
@@susanandfour2243 Thanks for watching Susan. Thats so good to hear. I hope all goes well. Happy and safe travels We appreciate your feedback. Ken and Julie.
You shouldn’t have had the turbo problems in the first place but Isuzu have dealt with it very well. Such a pleasant change to hear a story like this rather than the horror stories from Mazda and Toyota in particular who seem to do anything to avoid fixing things under warranty.
@@peterj5751 Thanks for watching Peter. Appreciate the feedback. Agree, shouldn't happen, but as you say, they dealt with it well. We couldn't have been happier. Im usually on the wrong end of these situations but was pleasantly surprised. Thanks again for your feedback. Ken and Julie
Great bunch of tips both of you, really like the idea of the R clip on the awning support. What I did for our waste water hose was to cut eight to ten 2 meter lengths with joiners at one end so that they can be linked together for the ideal length and not have coils of hose to walk over, when packing away they live in a PVC tube in the tunnel boot where they take up next to no room.
Think smart & not hard, my kind of language. Loved the green hitch idea & awning safety pin. Great job with your video production to. Keep them coming.
Excellent video, great tips, will use a couple of them myself. I like the way you swapped between the both of you and the bloopers at the end were a really good idea. Well done to the two of you and looking forward to your next one.

Great tips but I have one for you. Your Companion temp gauge will sit nicely in the face vent of your MUX, between the steering wheel and the A Pillar. Open the stand at the rear of the gauge and it slides into the vent and secures well. That way you can monitor the fridge temp as you drive. Saved me today, the anderson plug that supplies power to my fridge had disconnected from the car and if I hadn't seen the fridge temp rising, I would not have known.
@@petercross8620 Thats a great tip Peter, i love it. I will be 100% giving it a go. I have many times on travel days, looked inside van to check fridge temp. Thanks for sharing, Happy and safe travels. Ken and Julie
Some good tips. But why pay $20 for what is nothing more than a piece of hose with a right angle connector and a tap? Even before they existed I made my own from spare hose connectors. Probably worth $2! Seems you caravanners like parting with your retirement funds for "cool" gadgets!
@@Saskia-v9f Thanks for watching Saskia, we dont have a tip we can give you at the moment but i would join a facebook group of your brand of caravan (for us that is Essential) and post the question on that group. Beware the dreaded police siren sound in the turbo 2017 - 2020 models MUX and D max. Big problem Isuzu know the turbos are bad but try getting one replaced out of warrantee. Looks like you were lucky.

@@peteacher52 Thanks for the feedback Colin. One would hope so. I purchased the mux because of the 7 year warranty and 7 year road service, knowing we would be touring around Australia. They could not have done better, 10/10 Thanks again for watching Colin and happy motoring. Ken and Julie
And yet the dmax i was in with my son broke a tierod at the steering rack end left hand side , nearly killed us ,shot us off the road,we where on an open road doing 100k, and 2 years vehicle old some 45,000 k on the speedo ,and Isuzu dealer run the incident through ISUZU Australia and they said you've driven that vehicle of road and theres no warranty because you 4wd it , We fixed ourselves at a cost of about $450 -$500 including a wheel alignment , And due to that we are not longer a ISUZU owners of any sort and will never go back !
if an orange coloured light comes on the dash such as eml (engine management light) your car is safe to to drive , the ecu is telling you something is not right and it should be looked at as soon as you are near a dealer or auto electrician, you can still drive 20,000 k or more with an engine light on ,you might suffer poor economy or cruise control doesn,t work etc if a red light comes on the dash that is when you stop and are stranded until a tow arrives, i have a customer whohas driven his car for 3 years with his eml on he plugs the scanner in and clears the code for a rego inspection and just keeps driving

Suggest you get an aftermarket OBD2 scanner, relatively inexpensive, blue tooth to a phone app. Reads error codes, take down the details and forward to mechanic for easier assistance. Enables code clear as well. I wouldnt tow/travel without one.
@@dudless13 Thanks for the feedback, appreciate the advice, will defineatly look into it, like the idea bluetooth to phone. Thanks for watching. Ken and Julie
My observation is that caravans are getting bigger and heavier and in many cases the cars pulling them are getting less heavy duty and more lighter less powerful utes.and suvs. Some cars are struggling.
Good point. Just because the numbers say you can tow a particular rig doesn’t mean your tow vehicle is going to handle it well in the long term. Always best to have some headroom :)
Good ending, sad that a good car of only 85k km's needed to replace the turbo, I'm sure if you had to pay out of pocket it would maybe changed your mind ??? A new factory turbo and labour would be in the $1000's, with only 85k km's
@@GMans-World Thanks for watching, agree, would not have been happy if had to pay. One reason we purchased this car was the 7 year road service and warranty. So you are 100% right. Still was great service and they went above and beyond. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated Ken and Julie
