Prison is an easy place to grow spiritually. Especially if you spend time in solitary. If this guy were truly spiritual, he'd have come clean about everything because it's just impossible to be a saint AND a so-called "stand-up guy." If he had actually been transformed into this man of peace, his conscience would've compelled him to do as much as he possibly could to really save lives by helping law enforcement. Writing children's books may have been an honest, heartfelt endeavor; but the greatest impact that guy could've had on the families of his victims would've been to admit what he did, and THEN ask for forgiveness - that could've had a tremendously positive impact on kids too, much more so than a book they'll probably never even see.
