Excellent result, but a ridiculous and unjustifiable price point. I can achieve a similar result with one or two plugins that are a fraction of the cost. In fact, you could buy most of the competing noise reduction plugins and have enough left over for other tools for your arsenal. I can't deny it's an excellent result, truly. But not at 5, 10, or even 15 times the cost of similar products.
[AN ADDITIONAL WAY]: If your recording setup is able, try placing the C-SUITE C-VOX NOISE & AMBIENCE REDUCTION plugin from UAD (which is also a noise suppression technology from CEDAR) at the beginning of your live recordings and then try to utilize the CEDAR AUDIO VOICEX plugin in "post" to clean-up any remaining noise. NOTE: This may be a cheaper way to get high quality noise reduction by utilizing the CEDAR technology and without using the more expensive CEDAR AUDIO STUDIO COMPLETE bundle (in some situations).
Hi! I'm a sound engineer working with high-profile conferences and events all over the World and I've been using the Cedar DNS2 for four years now - it's small and portable and I bring it along for every job. All I need are my trusted HD-25 headphones and the Cedar DNS2 - and I'm ready for any sound work. The way its able to clean up voices is simply amazing. Right now, I'm sitting FOH in a large hall with twelve meter ceiling height, d&b E9 ceiling speakers playing downwards towards an audience of about 2000 people, using four GOOSENECK microphones on stage - and it works! 🙂 I would have been smoked trying this sound setup without using the Cedar DNS2 to clean up the sound. It would simply not have been doable, at all... During the prior conference, I had to use omni headmics in the same hall, with the ceiling speakers playing straight down on the stage - it was a tight rope for sure, but I was able to do it due to the help of the DNS2. I have also used the DNS2 to clean up ENG-sound recordings on-the-go, when I know that no sound editing will be done in post. All in all, the Cedar DNS2 is a fantastic invention and if you as a viewer find it interesting and wonder if it might make your sound work easier, my advice is to contact your closest Cedar reseller and ask for a try-out. Just be prepared to part with some money, because you don't want to go back once you've tried real-time Cedar noise reduction. 👍😃 www.ninjasound.se

How does it work when the HH hit is at the same time as the snare?. Not so good I'll bet. This plug is doing what any daw can already do...splice an audio clip.
Hello sword-and-shield... I'm sorry to correct you, but Retouch is not splicing. If you can identify individual sounds in time and space, you can apply any of the Retouch tools to them. These include interpolation, patching, copying, erasing, adjusting the level, AI repair, and cleansing, all of which are different ways to handle the audio. So, if you are able to mark the snare separately from the hi-hat on the spectrogram, no matter when they occur, you'll be able to manipulate them separately. To give you an idea of how powerful it can be, Retouch was tool that Abbey Road used to remove all of the overlapping noises when cleaning up the Beatles remasters, and to separate the instruments for the Rock Band game. @@Cedaraudio I am sorry to correct you, I didn't say Retouch was splicing, I said any daw and splicing can do what the plugin does.This pertaining to what its being corrected in the vid clip, not some other potential. So post up the vid where it is separating HH bleed happening simultaneously with the snare hit, unlike the current vid. I wasn't saying the plug didn't do what was implied or that it didn't do it well, just that a daw can do it already, in this example. Thx for the links, and I am not bashing the plug for what it does, more than for what it doesn't.
Pretty good result, obviously it can't deal with the most severe clipping but it certainly fixes the most obvious problem spots. I only know of this company and it's products because some Swedish guy used it to restore the famous 1938 Carnegie Hall jazz concert played by Benny Goodman.
Some bunch of assclowns made this video with a cute little animation showing control sliders going up and down. No demo of anything whatsoever. They might just be selling an old copy of Cool Edit Pro. Complete waste of time.
"I can't say enough about it." WRONG, dude, you have already said too much. Imagine a six minute video, subject matter audio noise suppression, and yet there is NOT ONE SINGLE SAMPLE of what the thing does. You might as well say "WWE depends on Tootsie Roll Pops." Sorry, dogs, this was a complete waste of time.
Does Cedar provide any tutorials, courses, or ongoing sessions, after making a product purchase? Because I got to have Cedar for audio-dialogue work (to take advantage of the amazing Cedar technology).
I have seen other videos what Cedar can do to audio and was blown away. Ofcourse for myself being just a very passionated amateur audio/Mastering engineer Cedar is impossible to get. But i keep this brand in mind as maybe one day i will earn money with Mastering and i always go for the best………. Most be a truly amazing Limiter! Goodluck marketing your products. Cheers

INTERESTING: This particular setup of having the boom-microphone “mic-line-in” to the Cedar DNS 2, then routed-out to the Sound Devices mixer can (also) be effective on a film set recording film dialogue (by eliminating the un-wanted background noise at the source before post production, which would make for a BETTER post production session/phase). NOTE: Since I already pair the Sound Devices 302/442/552 mixer with the Zoom F8 field recorder (to advantage of the Sound Devices’ analog limiters) by having the Sound Devices mixer “sit” in front of the Zoom F8 field recorder (which already has awesome digital limiters), I can then “sit” the Cedar DNS 2 in front of the Sound Devices mixer for an awesome audio-bag setup. Then in post production, utilize Cedar Studio and Izotope RX-9 for more surgical stuff. What do you think?

However, I think prospective customers would greatly appreciate a balanced and honest video presentation which demonstrates the product's strengths and limitations featuring a range of before and after samples with varying degrees of damage or extraneous noise levels. I would imagine that most would have the experience and intelligence to realise that results obtained with any kind of noise reduction solution are going to be subjective.

Fascinating. When the DNS 2 is engaged, the lawnmower sound and accompanying reverb drops away. But interestingly what sounds like strong ambience from the upstairs room, and not much else, is now apparent, and seemingly with no artifacts. That is very impressive. How is it possible? If I buy the DNS 2 will I get the same performance?

It uses algorithms to finds the dialog, and then turns down the other noises the mics pickup such as the crowd, pyro, music, etc. That way when people are talking, it's always present and clear.
I’ve been at WWE events in the past where I’m watching a backstage segment on the titantron and I can’t even hear what a superstar is saying in a backstage interview.
Sadly, a lot of that is out of WWE's hands and is down to how the arena was built. And how the sound waves react to the inside of the building. Aka acoustics.
