Car battery died after I left the lights on my Honda S2000 over night with a Compustar security system. Tried boosting it but have no life at all. Has to be something with the compustar. Does it need to be reset or something. Is it a security thing after the battery is disconnected or dies?
Hi, just got this installed today. I have a 2023 toyota 4Runner push button to start. I think it has a smart remote as i can just touch the handle to unlock my car. After remote starting my car and then unlocking (either with the handle or compustar remote), my vehicle shuts off after I open my door. Toyota didnt give me any instructions on use of the remote start. Is this normal or did they maybe wire wrong? It should be staying on when I open my door correct?

Hello! My T9 has dimmed its LCD illumination (it's screen is like a calculator screen, no light). Any suggestions on how to fix this? I've emailed Compustar but their response was "change the batteries". I've done that multiple times but no success
This method is only viable for certain remote start systems, it’s not specific to a certain car. You would need to know the exact unit that is installed in the dash, the remotes in your hand will not give you that piece of information.
Do you have a check engine light on or were you low on fuel? The installation in those trucks utilize the built in factory remote start to do the actual starting of the vehicle. Certain conditions like a check engine light or low fuel will prevent the factory remote start from working. If neither of those things is the case on your truck, you would need to discuss with your installer as there can be many reasons it stopped working.

Realistic range is about 1000ft. It works on AM frequency, so it’s not real strong just like AM radio in your car. It will go through walls but the working range will be reduced. How long it runs is not determined by the remote, it is set by your installer.
@@remotelystarted516 it came on but would turn on then shut off then turn on again and shut off etc . Till I stopped the cycle by just turning ignition to keep it on .
You can try disconnecting the positive terminal of the car battery for a few seconds. If that doesn’t get it working you’ll need to go to your local CompuStar dealer to have it reprogrammed to the car properly. Purely based on what you’ve described, it sounds like it lost communication with the car. RU-vid is not the place to do diagnostics, so I won’t take it any further than this comment. You can use the dealer locator on CompuStar’s website to find a local shop in your area.

Any idea why when I press and hold to start my 2003 Toyota 4Runner it sometimes triggers then factory alarm? Since the installation, I have Ben only using the remote stat remote to lock and unlock my vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated .
I can only answer for the front defrost. Before I shut my car off for the night, I make sure that the defrost button is on and that the air knob is turned up on high. That way when the car starts the car's front defrost is already enabled. I still have to hit the back window defrost button manually. All this depending on the car.
The guy that installed mine told me to take it back to who installed it they have to run an update on it for it to work again because when you get a new battery it resets and stops working

I have a 2013 Chrysler 300 has the remote start symbol on the keyfob but I can not get it to work, I don't think it's in Vallat mode the lights blink in the horn hawks when I lock it but when I try the remote start absolutely nothing happens
Worked for about 2 years and then about a month ago it stopped working, checked wiring harness connection could not find the issue about another month goes by and then magicly it starts working again but does not flash headlights like before indicating it started. Does anyone have any idea for a fix and or what caused it?!
Hi there! I ALSO have this exact 2W remote. It flashes amber and will lock/unlock/start engine but it does not flash green to confirm (even though it does do the action asked) and will not chirp to confirm action or chirp a few seconds later to confirm engine start. It is A 2W remote.
