Hi, my name is Matt Legg. I was a Super-Heavyweight Amateur Champion Boxer. And an ABA boxing Finalist
I started to box whilst in Prison at the age of 18. Once released I started my boxing career.
I turned professional at Heavyweight, and had a winning record, and I was lucky enough to Fight Future Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua and Former 5 weight World Champion James 'Lights Out ' Toney.
Thank you to my subscribers. Positivity, peace and Happiness
And please keep all comments respectful to everybody, as I will remove anything negative and insulting. Thank you
If I win the lottery here in Japan, I will get him over to Tokyo and have him do a one man show just for me! And some Japanese mates who won’t get it I suppose.
No the jaw. Is very vulnerable after a break. Mine was broken in a bout and18 months later in sparring session got caught with a right hook not even realy a hard shot nothing that would put you on your arse but my jaw broke again same place and I had it held with a metal plate. Jaw brakes are a tragedy for a boxer many a man hung up the gloves with consistent jaw problems and as you say very painful.
Matt - never in a million years would I think a limey pugilist would be making the best content on the internet. Nothing gets my inner fires going more than seeing the toughest dudes ever featured that also used their massive hearts for good as well. The dichotomy. Guys who are the most gangster also have the duality and ability ( earned it) to be the kindest and most generous to others. What bothers me the most about most celebs is they have so much POWER to give to people with a simple word of motivation or kindness.
Big Adam- the experience level was the only difference. Good on ya mate. Takes a real man to get in there. Regardless. Your lack of experience was the only difference. Just feeling the “feels”. I can tell the nerves played a big role in your performance. Just keep doing it.
Love your page Matt. I can see how the sport of boxing chipped away at the old ego to the point where you are a purely authentic man. Its an amazing thing to have zero fear. No fear of combat and most importantly no fear of speaking your heart, truth and love into the world. It takes a tougher man to be kind and give chances to the often broken man picking the fight. I spent over 20 yrs in the boxing ring and still get my ass kicked by some of the younger big guys. I can say not many men understand the depths you have to go to survive when you’re drowning and a big strong effective fighter is pummeling you. And the silent rewards of self confidence and humility it reaps. The further we become civilized and “woke” the less respect a true warrior poet receives despite the quiet intensely hard endeavoring to receive this martial wisdom and even sometimes empathy. Blessings from 🇺🇸
Nice one Matt. I compared this to Fury v Wilder! He had the same dent and stupidly carried on! I wonder where Ben Quittiker’s X-Rays are… Must be in customs… All the best and I hope Fabio, makes a speedy recovery.
thanks for the great video , some of the great fights of the past that didnt get filmed ..... everything gets filmed these days but then people sometime didnt even want things put on tape ! great stuff , cheers x
I didn't realise Fabio had practically no amateur background! I guess the more success Fabio gets the more he breaks the conventional method of starting out in the sport ( maybe he's an exception though). Interesting content and the jaw injury sounds hellish I'm glad you're doing alright now💪
My hole face has been broken through fights now every time I think about fighting it puts me back at the hospital and I just remember the pain when I woke up after surgery i wanted to be like Charlie Bronson but it tought me the best lesson I have ever learnt the only fight worth fighting is for the people you love
One of my best mate had his broke in sparring Matt ,his couch Mark Weir former ufc vet ,who threw a flying knee at him , broke off both sides of the jaw , he was wired up for eight weeks , but within three months he was back sparring with me , it healed perfectly tbf .
Doing well here mate ,carnivore Dietrich awesome the clarity that goes with it is a high . I try and do carnivor diet 4 plus times a year for atleast a week , best i can do under current conditions
Great stuff mate I'm the 24/7 carer for the wife who has mental issues so I know how important this sort of info and the words can be keep up the good work mate
Brutal injury to see, hope both lads got a real big payday as after the first fight they deserved a big payday. Love seeing Fabio in the Ipswich shirt in interview, hope to see him fight at Portman Road one day.
Only ever seen video's of the man and sometimes catch his own youtube. Seems like a gentleman who could more than take care of business back in the day. Seems like the kind of guy who would happily do you a favour to see you right.
Terry once very kindly sent me a big bunch of Fighting Arts magazine back issues after publishing a letter I wrote in it when I was a kid. I only trained under him once on a course in the 80s, but definitely a true warrior.
Great vid. Any thoughts on the comments by Ben Shalom on Wardley’s Fly gloves? He mentioned the doctor at the event said no boxing glove should be able to inflict those injuries. Apparently the WBC have banned their use until further investigation takes place. I read they’re “customised” to the fighter’s specifications. Could you do a separate vid on this topic? Thanks.
@@mattlegg1976 Yeah I do I can kind of relate from football with stepping up and taking free kicks and penalties in front of crowds it’s those moments the action stops it got to me sometimes and hit rowz or whatever lol so can only imagine that multiplied for a boxer going back to the corner when it’s not going well with health on line how it must feel, probably why the sport fascinates me so much and why I have so much respect for anyone who does it the internal battle with yourself must be immense on so many more levels than most sports.
PSA TEST LADS PLEASE, a small prick may just save your life! Prostate Cancer, the biggest killer of men above aged 45 !!! All good thanks Matt, 6 months on from prostatectomy and now cancer free, about 80% fit but can hold my piss and can "rise to the occasion" still so don't worry lads if you need the op everything still works but giving up smoking and drinking is the best way to recovery. 👊✊😎
