I seriously think 1:50 is on par with Atop the D as the funniest mugging because the buildup and payoff was so perfect. The guys casually chatting about the video ending with Gavin’s FPV panning right, the brief glimpse of the mugger sprinting towards us, the screen cutting to black as Gavin accidentally snapped the camera shutter with a scream that rises in pitch, and then when the view comes back Gavin is on the ground with -$7400 to Jack’s giggling while the other guys are just like “WTF was the screaming?” It’s absolutely perfect comedy setup and timing.
Ryan used to be one of my favorites. One of. I really like Gavin, Michael, Geoff, Jack, Jeremy, Shit just about everyone. Except for Ryan now, the whole thing ruined it for me. I see old videos with Ryan in them and I just cringe. I will always love rooster teeth and Achievement Hunter, because I grew up watching red vs blue and let's plays. I used to laugh so hard at Ryan's content, especially in minecraft. Like the one where he tries to tunnel under geoff's store and rob the chest and miscalculated. I thought that was hilarious at first. I understand they can't go through and remove every single video with Ryan in it. I mean sure they can, but you have other creators with him on the internet. And of course youtube is recommending stuff with Ryan in it.
Gav getting pulled out of the plane 1st time was funny like “hehe trolling fun”. The second time he gets mugged after throwing the original mugger out and the two muggers double teamed him frickin made me piss my self laughing
See, sometimes I think I don’t enjoy the "new Achievement Hunter" because I grew out of it or sth. But then I remember stuff like this, watch it and still cry tears of laughter. My conclusion is that the new AH isn’t funny 🤷♀️
New AH feels too phony. The drawn out interactions between the original clowns is what people originally enjoyed. New AH is super edited, hyperfocused on "cutting to the chase" rather than letting the nuanced camaraderie play out.
It started going down hill when they started forcing Lindsay, Matt, and Trevor down our throats. They were easily the most boring cast members at the time. Then came the diversity hires.
