I'm working my way to entering my first drift event. I bought a 6 speed 2007 Nissan 350z with a VQ35HR engine and brought it to New York to turn it into my first drift car. I have two other cars, one is my mobile toolbox and daily driver (2000 Buick LeSabre) and the other is my first love (6 speed 2003 Acura 3.2CL Type-S). On this channel I'll be showing you repairs and mods I make to all the cars, with a focus on the 350z for now. Beyond that I'll bring you along for anything else worthwhile I'm doing in the meantime. The goal is to have a good time and bring you along for the ride as well as share some tips here and there on automotive repair, maintenance, and modification.
Leave me a comment if there's anything you want to see more of, if you have any questions, or just to say hi. Thanks for watching.
I had the same thing happened to me , I use a A plumber pipe wrench at the base of the bushing Sleeve have to get good grip you may need to put a additional pipe over the handle of the pipe wrench for more leverage...then turn it with all your force and it will twist off! ..Hope this helps someone out there.
I didn't see that in the manual at the time but I have read that online a few times! No leaks yet but i was planning on changing it this next oil change. Thanks!@@LelandKFC
No need to remove the driveshaft end off the differential flange: just remove the front 3 bolts off the guibo, then drop the center support bearing down off the studs, then you need to slide the front half into the splines of rear half of the driveshaft, then the lfront flange will get off the tranny flange long pilot pin. Then hold the rear half up to using string to avoid damaging the rear CV joint. The CV joint balls fly out because you pry at the front instead of the rear off the diff flange.
so ive been having this issue for about a month, it started after i threw a code for throttle bodies, ive now replaced them and still have the idle issue, ive contacted Eugene and sent my ECU out today to have it fixed, will update in a couple weeks. Thank you THOMAS! AND EUGENE!
Aw man I wish you saw this before you bought new throttle bodies, they are definitely not the problem in this scenario. I wish you luck and I’m sure Eugene will sort it out for you! Let him know I sent you by
honestly, im tempted to take them out and just return them to auto zone, my only issue is im running air suspension and sub/speaker amp, i pulled a code for BATTERY and throttle bodies, waited 24 hrs for my battery, in that 24 hrs i cleaned the TB and started having the rev issue- i had no rev issue before disconnecting- it was just low voltage from all my electronics, without finding this today, and Eugene getting back to me, id probably be fucked @@thomasjay96
My engine blew because of low oil pressure, which is a symptom of this gasket. But the engine I’m working on in this video is the new engine I bought to replace the blown one and I did this gasket on the new one to be safe
@@thomasjay96 Just subscribed . Thanks for the reply. How low was your pressure before your engine blew? my 07 is at 10 psi at warm idle. Now i'm worried!
Hello, recently my Z is having the same exact problem. I went to auto zone to get a new starter and my old starter passed 4 times so I took it back and just put my OEM one back on.I also tested my battery and it was fine. Pretty sure my fuses are fine, I ordered a new clutch safety switch hoping that solves it for now I'm puzzled and sad.
What year is your Z? Autozone starter was passing the starter test every time when i took it to get tested but wouldn't work on my car. So I bought a brand new oem starter and she started up every time since. After that experience I don't feel like the starter test will fully rule out the starter being the issue
My goal was to upgrade the whole suspension set up for drifting so I wasn’t really aware of which suspension components specifically needed to be replaced because I was replacing all of them anyway. But I did and still do hear a creaking sound when the car is taking on curvy roads, every time it sways left or right you can hear this creaking sound. Is yours the same or it’s a different creaky sound ?
A friend of mine solved the issue just limiting the air when in iddle putting some dirt inner the valve. In his case the other alternative solution would be the TBI replacement
I’m having the same problem after changing my valve covers and cleaning my throttle bodies car just revs up 07 G35 sedan 6mt feeling like parting out 🤦♂️
Thanks for the video. I am having the same problem with my 2007 Z after cleaning the throttle body. Brough my car to the dealership this morning and they were not able to fix the problem and recommended replacing the ETB. Did a few more research then found your video. I'll give Eugene a call this week. How much did you pay for the ECU upgrade, if you don't mind me asking?
It’s crazy the dealerships don’t have this figured out by now, it’s such a common issues with the 2007 ecu. Glad you found the video 👍🏼 Eugene is the best and it was about 150 plus shipping costs
For those who the relearning procedure doesn’t work: when you crank the car to start the relearning (after light blink and goes solid) cover the CAI with your hands trying to set the RPM close where it have to be. Some ECUs doesn’t ends the procedure correctly if the RPM is higher than 1k… so, you have to force it down blocking the air.
You shoulda talked more about the levels. There was the first floor and the second floor and the third floor. That was the important part. We went to all the floors. It was a success.
I just got some new tires on mine last summer.. I’m still battling a stall at start issue when hot. I’m pretty sure it’s the maf sensor, it started doing it got replaced with an aftermarket maf but the raw data looks good on it. I’m getting a oem maf for it because I found out that after market sensors don’t do good on gm cars so I’m hoping it fixes it man.. I’ve done just about everything you can do to fix the issue, it’s a head ache but I found a dude with a century that had the same issue and he narrowed it down to the maf so it only makes sense
@@thomasjay96 dude.. sorry just saw this comment. Your not going to believe this, I had it in the shop for over a month with all types of diagnostics and other sensors replaced that were bad and going bad, it would still stall at start.. my brother told me to ask chat gpt, the first thing it said was replace the aftermarket with a oem maf sensor.. it immediately stopped stalling at start when I did that. Do not put after market chips on those cars, but it’s crazy the the ai new the answer instantly after I gave the history and symptoms
The mechanic wanted to run diagnostics after I told them about the dude with the century and offered to replace with an oem maf for free if they didn’t find anything wrong.. they found a bunch of shit that needed replaced so they were convinced they found the cause, they fixed something in the ignition and also the crank shaft sensors. It stopped stalling and then after 3 days of driving it started back up again. That’s when I got on chat gpt, but the mechanic luckily only charged me for the crank shaft sensors and some other parts without charging me for diagnostics/labor and did the oem maf for free
@joaniepeters2565 wow dude ai scares me but this makes me want to try and use chat gtp the next time I have an issue haha who needs scanners and sensors when you have an app that will give you every answer you need in 2 seconds 😂
Man that was a nice drift! You had it under control in that tight little area with them filming in the other car and then drove off on the road like nothing ever happened!
