@IlovutubeCant-d8h Becareful on the Bay, make sure you check the wind predictions. Always wear your PFD. The only tip I can think of is always check your bait and if it is frozen bait. Make sure it has a nice spin as you troll or drift. Thanks for watching
Great video. Stampede is my favorite Lake and been fishing there since 1988. Once a great fishery with Big Fish. Now the last few years has been Overfished and Kokanee are getting smaller. In the 90’s you could catch Kokanee up to 20”. And just a few yrs ago 15-17”, now mostly 12-14”. Also had Big Browns back in the day, but still an Awesome lake
@GaryRoenickr Thanks for watching! Yeah the Kokanee are small due to overstocking along with some natural spawners. I bet the fishing was great in the years past. Boca used to be a great place too.
@supercliff5634 it's not a big lake so you can cover the whole lake if you have to. But I always did good right in front of the Lodge just past the bouy. Good luck! You probably will see alot of boats jigging for Kokanee also.
When I first saw the clips I thought, that looks just like John Mayer. A great player, I would not have thought of him with Dead Again. But the fit is perfect--he has the feel, the pacing, it's seamless.
Are you only allowed one fishing rod in the water per person? Or can you buy a second rod stamp to fish two poles. I know it’s ok for shoreline fishing, but not sure from a boat, etc.? How do those fish fare on the table? Comparable? Thanks for posting a great day fishing. Fish on!!!!
Yes you can use two rods with the two rod endorsement. Kokanee is the best tasting freshwater fish you can catch in my opinion. Even the small ones are worth keeping and eating. Stampede has been fishing well lately. They are averaging like 11 to 12 inches but it's still so fun.
Hell yeah, let's freaking go, Scott. First halibut trip on the Salt and limit too. Congrats brother. Very happy you're getting into salt. You need a trip to Sonoma Coast for them giant ling/Cabe😉
I live in Bend and just picked up a fishing kayak. Mine isn’t as fancy as yours -no trolling motor or drive system, just old fashioned paddling 😂. Any tips to get started? Good lakes to try out?
The cool thing about Kokanee fishing is that you don't have to move very fast. You just need to troll at 1-1.5 mph, you can easily paddle this. If you don't have any Kokanee gear just start with a 2" pink Hoochie tipped with a piece of corn on each hook. And use a dodger about 12" away from the lure. Also, I have seen a bunch of boats jigging for kokanee with a kastmaster lure.
Another thing to look at is the eye color and the spots below the lateral line. If it has red eyes and neat rows of small spots below the lateral line then it is a spotted bass. Hope this helps
I will buy some of your trolling flies. Let me know how to get them. Its fun to watch you catch fish! I live in Roseville and like to watch you fish the local lakes.
