My wife and I just love your channel! Thanks for all these awesome videos of some absolutely beautiful places. Great to see some fellow Canadians living their best life, Cheers.
Thanks Joe, appreciate you catching up with us! It's been an adventure. We've learned a lot in the past 3 years and we continue to get better at everything we do. Nothing like time on the water and real life to get an education! Cheers J&T 🍻
Good catch, We did announce that a while back to be more real-time with our Patreon's to follow along when we did the trip, our videos are catching up with us closer to the real-time.
You are not wrong. We had it tied up behind the boat but it was very windy and choppy and the dinghy was smacking into the boat with a lot of force so we thought it was best to let it out and just be real careful not to drop anything... haha.
Thanks Graeme, we wish we could have been there this year, but we are flat out right now with projects and both going to school. To many things at once and attending the show really would have been tough to stay on schedule. Have a brewski for us! Cheers!
Great video and to have such beautiful calm seas, no doubt a pleasant relief from the last few weeks, certainly the beaches and the water looks amazing. Josh I agree with you about the motor yacht no flashy flying bridge just plane simple lines and it looked to me as the superstructure was well kept wood. Just been looking at where you are on Google and it looks to like you are well clear of Miton as it makes landfall as always stay safe and enjoy the sailing ❤❤👍👍🇳🇿
Hey John, yeah it was a neat place to visit. That amazing boat Josh showed is the tender. The large (100+ft) Ketch in the video behind us is the boat it travels with, both had beautiful wood work and were so pretty to look at. We are safe and sound, Looking forward to sharing our Atlantic crossing experience with everyone. Cheers!
@sailinghonutime The tender 🤔🤔 obviously no money problems there, but at the end of the day you're getting as much enjoyment and pleasure doing it the way thousands of others do 🤣🤣
Most do, sometimes you have no choice but to go through areas that have them, and not all are charted. But if you are careful and do it in the right kind of daylight you can get to really cool places.
This is a very nice, calm video. What a relief! It is great that you will crew across the Atlantic with friends. That will be an exciting sail and fun to watch. What camera did you use to take the vertical video above your dinghy?
Thank you, yes, we are crew and doing the crossing with the ARC (actually are back now - real time), it was a great adventure and look forward to sharing it.
Take a cattle Fence charger, hook the Plus terminal to your guard rail, and the negative side on ground mat or Anchor chain! They'd look like, the tall Crook on, (Home alone), don't forget to unplug it when you go on deck.
Hi guys another great video, and the forest trails beautiful in the bush , as for getting into a wetsuit when you're sweaty hot 🤣🤣🤣 I know that feeling well but down here it's normally a 7mm suit but the water when you got in was amazing 60 - 70m visibility and the abundance of fish were beautiful to see, and I know you can see a lot more than what we can see on the video. I have found where you are on Google maps so that is helpful to follow you along, as always I enjoy all that you post and hopefully Josh's shoulders improve soon 👍👍🇳🇿
Thanks so much for hanging out with us John. We really appreciate you always saying hi and commenting. I hope we get to NZ ans meet you one day. Josh is healing up but it's been a slog for sure. A 7mm suit is a challenge! We wrestle woth 2/3 suits! Cheers 🍻 hope your having/had a great weekend.
How long have yall been married..take it yall not have any kids? Like the Floorplan of yalls boad..it's a very nice boat..I'm sure it's like 300usd or more...maybe one day I'll buy one
Hi Bryan. Our boat was considerably less than that. Once you start researching you will see you can get into a decent blue water cruiser for plus minus a hundred thousand. Cheers 🍻 thanks for saying hi!
Amazing video guys, I'm not sure whether I favor the drone shots or the underwater views 🤣🤣🤣 I mean it's a hard decision for me to from here 🇳🇿. Honestly guys you continue to bring new surprises wherever you go and sometimes that's rolling waves but that's sailing. Listening to you talking about the history of the islands and how it was developed and the efforts to keep the place largely undeveloped at the waters edge and having dingy moorings and swim to shore seems great for all concerned, but I have to say I spotted the problem dingy before you asked 🤔🤔 just nuts but we aren't all good sailors. As for the Lime out I couldn't stop laughing I literally had to stop and wipe my eyes, the opportunities for sailing around that part of the world are amazing, take care and watch those shoulders Josh and looking forward to your next video 😋😋👍👍🇳🇿
Thank you so much! We love that you are apart of our adventure. Sharing all of this is so much fun and we are so happy that you are enjoying it too 🤙🌮⛵
10-4 ans Roger that. We've since extended the gaff from 3.5ft to 6ft that has helped, haveing to lean over a railing to reach down 3.5 ft with two recently dislocated shoulders made it 100 percent, the worst gaff job ever, not that any previous ones looked much better.. haha. But we are slowly building our fishing garage to land the lunkers. Cheers.
You know when you catch a fish you need to have the line running through the eyes the right way and you can turn the ratchet off so you don’t wreck your reel!
We're amatures.. haha we do love our smaller fish! We're learning and appreciate all the comments. Everytime we fail at something we research it and do better next time. Cheers 🍻
Game changer. The hardtop was already on Honu when we bought him. We had a canvas guy create the rest of the enclosure. We are hoping to extend the hardtop all the way to the back. Future plans.
Ya I'll be 57 next July before my mother passed away I was gifted an nice sum of money to slow down an ive always hat boats I been driving cement trucks for the last 27yrs. You're both inspiration drives me to actually make the plunge be safe
Hey John, WTH I've never heard or seen of one of those but that could be a game changer! It's so awkward to reel in on the side of the boat to begin with, having the dinghy in the way make it a pain to do anything off the Stern. But wow the flying Gaff is the way to go! Cheers 🍻
