Hey there, name's Ian Werner. I live in San Francisco California, and I've been playing the bagípipe since 1992. 25+ years of dedication to this unique celtic instrument has afforded me quite the plethora of life-experiences and has opened my eyes and ears, as it were, to whole other worlds of sublime musical interpretation. Being a musician, for me, has always been about the enrichment I can give to those around me, quite literally, as playing for a live audience is what makes knowing how to play an instrument worth every second spent on its study. I love to play for crowds, and am available for any event in which having piper, for whatever reason, is a must. I also am an experienced piping instructor, and will always take on a new student, regardless of background. Take a look at my videos and enjoy my music. I can be reached at sfbagpipes@gmail.com or 628-202-4396 Cheers!
Could someone point in the direction of getting the sheet music for this version please? Or if you have a copy maybe share it with me? Many thanks and happy piping ☮️❤️
The tune is actually called “The Officer’s Funeral March” composed by English Poet and Composer Caroline Norton after a colleague of her’s was Killed in The Crimean War.
have enjoyed your videos and hope you are still checking the comments :)......in this one it looks like you have some sort of special attachment or reed...what is the set up you have including the chanter?....it looks like it makes it easier to keep blowing pressure on the reed while circular breathing?...ive tried with conventional practice chanter and it's nearly impossible to keep enough constant pressure on the reed...tx...
Thanks Ian for playing Mary Anne of Garradh - Na - Mona, lovely melodic tune, well played. I have just written my own little snare score for this tune.
What do you think? Great ancient music and people wiggling phones. And now covid and the great reset. We need good music and to get back to something better. Peter
Im not wearing my glasses so bare with me but is that a nice Leslie tartan? Thanks for uploading, I've been watching your content for learning purposes
