Hi welcome to my channel I love all rc's but most of all scale crawlers at any scale!!! I invite you to follow along with my rc adventures! If you would like to you can email me at: tjthercguy@gmail.com or you can dm me on Instagram: @tjthercguy #AvantLink
@@MCsCreations Thanks plan on it. Slowly working in the property, fixing and selling vehicles while also working on getting a license now that I have a reason and getting us all moved in the other house that’s not falling apart🤞 everything pans out. 🤗
@@luisLP5752 just haven’t had time to run them lately between working on the property, trying to fix/sell off some vehicles and trying to get myself on the road finely. I gotta get the course cleaned up to. Possibly moving it into the other yard. Unfortunately the spot I have in mind is extremely over grown with black berry’s. But it’s a old compost/fire ash pile should be a good spot.
What up TJ, nice work. I am interested in building one. Just got into the 3d building also. Im unable to find the files. The site you have up isnt working unless they took it down. Are you able or willing to send the STL files along with any directions that the builder had?
Unfortunately looks like he removed it from thingiverse. He did says something about making a new version. I no longer have the files because it’s didn’t handle very well and I ended up printing this one in the link. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5768730
Right surprisingly it runs pretty dang smooth! It will start if the flick of the key most times to. Of course not when I get the camera out though. 😂🤣😂
I think it's Mee us if you get what I mean ,that looks good , id like to see it with some larger tires like the DJ crawler 72x27 spiked very soft tires , I bought a few sets after seeing them on RU-vid and i am loving them , if you haven't tried them get a set , they would be great on that truck you just built there , stay safe mate 🇬🇧
Bro, I was tweaking all day trying to figure it out lol monster trucks need clothes dips, but I have a good question. I still have the plastic stock lock gifts from the smasher wondering if I shouldn’t just throw those in there since I have metal everything else including metal driveshafts coming.
OK edit I figured it out! It was, indeed the open diff , the gears didn’t look bad either. It’s just they made the teeth on those gears so shallow like there’s so much play in there so anyway my I converted to a monster truck so I need lock diffs anyway.
I just installed mine in my Fms smasher and I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong. I have eliminated just about everything out the box after installment it’s acting like the gears are stripped, but none of the gears are stripped. The transmission and motor are good wiring good .edit at 4:56. I’m about to check that problem right now and see if that’s what it was. That’s the only gears I didn’t check Re-edit got the diff apart, gears look to be good too but I see the teeth are all so shallow . Definitely room for play with all that extra weight hope I can run with locks ima try
@@TJthercGuy I figured it out see I’m running my smasher as a monster with renegade tires and high speed motor not a crawler so I need locks regardless but the open gifts they provide the teeth are so shallow, anyway now I’m wondering whether I should run the metal locks or the plastic diff locks that come stock w the smasher since everything else I’m running is metal including metal driveshaft soon
@@Diddlemiggers ahh yeah I’d Try the metal lockers. It will tip easier at high speed but so far I haven had a issue. Then again I’m not bashing and there’s no slipper. 🤔
@@TJthercGuy yeah that’s what I was just thinking I’m bashing daily and it doesn’t come with a slipper. I have it all installed and ready to go, but I can’t test anything yet because I’m waiting on driveshafts
I did a full restoration on a 1979 Mgb-gt , it was a two year project, that around 25 years ago , i still have the car it is still in good shape , im getting it ready now to go back on the road , good luck with the truck its worth saving , you will be smiling when your going on your first road trip , stay safe working under the truck mate 🇬🇧
Right on yeah I would love to save it but not sure I could afford a off frame restoration. But definitely want to use this as a opportunity to learn. Last car I helped build was when I was in my teens. It was a old 76 ford falcon but we didn’t take it off the frame then. 😄
Dude, that part you asked, my father said it's something of the breaks. I don't know exactly how to translate "burrinho" to English. 😬 I think it's the part you use to remove air from the break lines. Something like that. Anyway, it's great to see it working! Sounds great! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Glad to see your given the ol truck another life to live full of memories and great times. Much respect to you and definitely looking forward to more video's on this. Have fun👍😎
For sure love working on old rigs like this basically same stuff we had in the farm growing up. First up water pump and some fuel tubing so I can get the actual gas tank hooked up. In the mean time I found all of the parts to the original branch seat and some halfway decent cushions. Plus there is several fabrics in the bus. Might try and rebuild the seat and work on the rear brakes while waiting for a few things to sell so I can get a the pump and everything ordered. 🤔
I used the nuts the axles had on them to hold the hex’s on as spacers. Just make sure you tighten the wheel nut good so the bad don’t slip. Wider hex’s, wide offset/deep dish wheels will work to.
Yes on the truck! 100% And i love the patina on that paint job, but full restoration would be awesome! You lucky dog! That truck is gonna be so great. No on the jeep.
Well... All I can tell you is that I really like it, man. Beautiful truck indeed! Whatever you decide, I hope she gets the deserved treatment. 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks yeah I’m very temped to sell the clapped out Jeep and put the $ into fixing up the c10. Can picture it with a nice paint job, decent wheels and maybe lowered a bit. I’ll probably do a poll later on once I can get the $ to rebuild or replace the carb and get the truck where I can give it a nice bath and we all can get a good look at what we are working with. 👊😜
@@cbsshenanigans862 That’s what I was thinking. The only obstacle is founding it. I have most if not all the tools needed to get it on the road in the garage. 🤔
You can’t unless it’s motor on axle. But you can minimize it. Make sure the axle gears are well lubed. A little extra pre-load on the rear shock on the side it leans to and battery mounted on the opposite side on a slider or a rear under drive will also helps. If your leaning really bad with out being in a bind or under heavy load something in binding in the axle.
Excellent build bro. Ive had this body sitting and awaiting a build for 1 1/2 years . Please follow this vid with a detailed break up of your build. I desperately want to know how you mounted the VW body to the chassis plus which links are you using etc.
Yeah turned out the be a bad pinion from hr. Still using the spur in my scx24 Comanche build. But put a 12t 10th scale pinion to use a Komodo motor and it’s not near as loud. The setup has been in a few different builds now. ✌️😄
Hello! I forgot to say that on a 380 Li-Po battery, the motor and RCAWD transmission do not open up completely. You need a battery of at least 600. The difference is big, on my 180 51T Motor.
Mah is runtime c rating affects punch/power some. This little 300mah could make my 3D printed monster truck experiment dang near do standing backflips on the same motor and transmission. This build I don’t have the room for a any of the higher mah batterys I’ve found this one barely fits. Beside the Beatle build isn’t meant to be super fast. But has more then enough power and wheel speed to break axle shafts if I’m not careful. ✌️😄
@@TJthercGuy Understand. I calculated the gear ratios here. And with RCAWD it is faster than the TRX4M gearbox by 0.5 motor revolutions. 9.2 vs 9.7. and this despite the fact that the pinyon gear is smaller. 11T vs 16T. And with RCAWD you can replace the gear from 16T to 18T and get another speed increase.
