Love the bike, mine is also a 2018, but it's a 107ci and everything is chrome!! Unrelated, I see you're a Soldier, if you are or were in Virginia, I think we've met on your way to work.
I like HD Breakout a lot. So, I went to visit a local HD dealership and they wanted to charge me a lot over MSRP. So, I eventually bought a 1/12 scale model and I have become a happy owner now ever since.
Harley Davidson has had a long run manufacturing hot air cooled engines with 1950’s/1960’s technology with those days closing. A huge primary chain rotating in oil, pushrods, rocker arms, and bottom end cams with pushrod lifters are done. High maintenance and overly labor intensive engines are forcing new riders and old HD owners to other brands.
I am trying to decide between if I should go for 2017 or 2019 breakout. I prefer the styling on 2017, if I could put the same wheels and head lamp on 2019 I think I would have a good mix of the two. Any thoughts would be appreciated 🙂
1. What swingarm bag is that? It looks like Viking. 2. How did you mount the passenger right footpeg with the short shots on. Your bike looks great. Thanks
Hey Craig, I ended up getting the same lower Radiator Fairing as you but I did not get instructions for the fairing. Think you could send them to me? Brian
@@craigthediyguy1534 No they aren’t . I have the same breakout and the rear had to be shimmed . The front fit . All of it goes together with 2017 breakout installation kit for ABS breakouts and the front fits 2018-2020 breakouts but the rear needs about 1/8 inch more on the spacer for a snug fit to align the rear . The turbines are built for 2013-2017 breakouts . I had moonshine Harley in Tennessee fit them. You probably had someone put them on like you did the mueller shock lowering and did not no the specifics to what was done .
They aren’t a direct fit . The rear needs about 1/8 thicker spacer. I posted above to his reply saying the are a direct fit stating no they aren’t with more specifics.
And in the states dealers won’t attempt to put turbines on the new breakouts. But in Germany and Australia they will . Australian dealers even sell newer breakouts with turbines already fitted . I had to call Australia to get the specifics to what to do if I did it myself . But I found one dealer in Tennessee Moonsome Harley who builds custom aftermarket bikes the way you want and still gives you full warranty. You should check moonshines channel out , funny guys and great engine builders . I got a red shift 468 cam , Trask air cleaner, the turbines fitted and about to get a 128 big bore kit and still have my warranty and it’s extended for every additional mod drive train wise even after the manufacturer warranty is up. . And we aren’t talking crappy SE parts . Dropped it an inch with progressive rear shock . I’m using red shift , S&S racing, , fueling parts , recluse clutch , dark horse compensator . My wife hit my 2018 breakout and totaled it . I got a new 2020 breakout in midnight dark blue with chrome turbines and fast as shit and the cam has a sick lope on idle . I think I’m the only black guy in Michigan with a breakout with turbines lol. Those V&H short shots sound like a lawn mower when idling . Off road exhaust kill bottom end . Designed for wide open throttle and a cam can help them perform and get some sound . My cam alone made my bike almost twice as loud and she thunder barks with a rachet idle . I love your breakout though . You blacked out the motor and the blacked out turbines and your bars rock . Your bike is sick love it . I just hate off road pipes and sound and lack of performance US Air Force veteran
with the Saddlemen seat installed, do you sit farther back and lower or are you still up and forward about the same as the stock seat? The stock seat is no joke a tail bone bruiser!!
Thank you so much, I will have this kit installed on my 2019 Slim next 4th of July. I will put it down 1cm as the Slim is already low at the back. Do you scratch the foot pegs when turning ? Your video is very instructive. Thank you and ride safe.
