@trifo13 I'm a senior in high school who's been rowing for about 5 years now. An average rate for my club's top varsity 8 usually sits anywhere between a 30 and a 34 for a 2k race , and that's with the most experienced rowers we have. 30 may be just a tad slow for a college team, but not so much if you consider that this may be their heavyweight boat, or perhaps a boat filled with mainly walk ons who have not been rowing for very long.
