In fiecare vara am fost in mamaia pana in 89. Era casa mea, stiam fiecare piatra si copac!
Egreta in Venus mi-a placut mult, era f elegant...restaurantul Aladin linga el la dou pasi, spre Minigolf... superb! ❤
sA ARATATI DIFERENTELE NU ARE ROSTUL PENTRU CA DUPA LOVITURA DE STAT DIN ROMÂNIA DIN 1989 A AVUT LOC GENOCID IN TARA SI ACESTA ERA AL DOILEA IN CINCIZECI DE ANI
I'm young, yet I will never get over the fact that they tore down Penn Station. Without question, the most heinous act of public vandalism in history. Whenever I see Grand Central, it makes me depressed because it just reminds me that what happened to Penn Station almost happened to Grand Central. Thank you Jackie Kennedy for prioritizing our history and heritage.
Check out AMTRAK-Moynihan Station, just west of Eighth Avenue, where the main US Post Office was redesigned as the new Amtrak station with a massive waiting area and high glass ceilings.
I was born in New York City in 1946, and I’ve always known that “you can take the kid out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of the kid.” I never realized how true that is until I watched this video! I live in the south now (in an inherited house when I got priced out of the rental properties in NYC. But I’ll always be a New Yorker. That’s such a strong part of me, right down to the last atom of myself.
I guess Im about 9 years too late BUT- you HAVE to turn down the music. It is distorted so that - even if I turn down my volume- it sounds terrible and makes the video very difficult to watch. I appreciate the work that went into this and I love looking at these scenes side by side... but my GOD! I've never in my life heard a softly-played, sweet, solo violin being blasted out at a million decibels! It's painful. Thanks!
I just loved this video my father came over to England in the war but went back to America but he never forgot about me and came to see me a few times but my mother wouldn't let me go over there for a holiday so iv never seen America but if I ever win lottery it's the first thing I will do god bless America
Old New York had so much more character. The Buildings than looked so much more intimidating and stronger...they we're just as much Buildings and commercial back than compared to today. Except the Buildings now are far taller and bit more modern none the less, Old New York was far more beautiful thab current day New York.
Thanks! Have a blessed year everyone 😊 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
2:50 I think they are not the same. Yes, the 1910 mansion was moved but the 2015 building you are showing is the North East facade instead of the North facade (of 1910).
While beautiful it's saddening at the same time. It made me think of how little time we have. 100 years from now everyone will be replaced by new people. Every building pictured will probably be gone, or the large majority. Time does not forget.
older photos show a less hectic. Crowded New York before it became the toilet it is now even up to the seventies wasn't as bad as it is now. New York not worth it to me now after the towers were taken down. it's just another overcrowded city nothing special my opinion. Anyone that can't admit the world trade center and the towers made Newyork unique and it had the most awesome skyline that set it apart from any other skyline is just in denial. New York had something to be proud of now look at it.
