seeing him only so long on t compared to his profile picture is really inspiring :> though, the fact that he hasn't updated in 5 years makes me think that he probably passed away back in 2014... but I'm happy that while he was here/while he was still alive, he got to a good point in his transition where he seemed comfortable in his own skin. 💖
Well it's been years ago (5 to be exact). But it was a good decision and one I am happy I made. Also I am happy that at the time I did not chose the local doctor. So there's that. Dr G is a bit overrated these days. But at the time it was a good decision. Thanks for commenting.
Just found your channel and I’m like blown away I came out nearly three yrs ago and have just started my medical transition I’m currently 40 and am interested in how t will affect me later on and there’s not many if any older guys so I’m now following your channel your voice has changed loads in 6wks and your face is definitely changing congrats on your journey 🎉👍❤️
It's been maybe 5 years, I know I'm not posting but I'll give you a personal update: I am correctly gendered about 90% of the time (I am 5'1" and have nearly no body hair, but a bit of beard); medically I'm doing okay but have high BP (may actually be inherited)-- but in the process of getting it managed and high cholesterol (definitely T related!). You might consider the FB group (that I co-mod) "The original Trans guys over 40). We accept trans masculine folks, medical transition of any kind is not needed. Accepting the gender binary isn't really either,
Wow well I’m just started watching your videos from the beginning wow five years goes quick when your not looking sounds like things are going well apart from the cholesterol but guess you can get that any way Iv looked for that group on fb but it doesn’t come up all I get are pages about cars 😳🤣 thanks for the reply never know if ppl actually see comments x
Hello. I'm from Aotearoa Newzealand. I am Transgender FTM. I've been on T for 3 months and 27 days. I started April 31st 2018. I'm 33 years old. and I've been a dialysis patient for 8yrs. I won't stop taking T because I need to change to who I am.
20 yr old transguy here! very much enjoyed watching this video and the perspective I have gained from you, an older transguy. :) Hope all is still going well for you!
I really admire your strength and how brave you are to be so open about such a big step in your life! This video made my heart smile seeing you get to become who you are! I wish you every success with your transition and hope your positivity never fades ❤️ much love x
WOW! I had no idea folks would transition so late! Would you be offended if I asked this: "given average life spans, why wouldn't you just ride it out the way you've been for so long ??" and "won't testosterone give you breast cancer or a heart attack?"..and" why do transwomen get *so much more* media attention than transmen do? ". .. I've only heard this video right now so have nothing to compare it to, but from my point, your voice here still sounds very female... But it will change :)... Anyway, good on you for having the courage to share your journey with the world and maybe it will help others to. Take care
Oh no! It's been a wonderful journey. I have never felt comfortable in my own skin before. Now I do. So I am extremely happy I didn't "ride it out". T is not associated with breast cancer (actually estrogen is), but probably related to increased coronary risk. I am much more careful about exercise and diet than I was before. Fear is not a good way to live your life. You should embrace life-- even the risk in it. I believe there are multiple reasons trans women have more attention than trans men. One reason is that testosterone is more "active" causing more changes. Estrogen is much more subtle. Therefore trans men often "pass" (I would say at a very high rate--95% or better, if we want to that is). Trans women it is very dependent on their genes. So we tend to blend into the population. Though I don't "pass" in the above video, I do now., even though I am very short and slight. Another reason is misogyny-- trans women are more hated for "giving up" manhood basically. At least this is my take.
astrog8tr thank you for your reply... I am well impressed and liked into some of your more recent videos. Whoever we are we have to deal with life and all that good stuff, so I think it's fantastic you found the guts to let yourself follow on this path. I wish you well :)
Hey Owen, well I think like a lot of things people start like this, it's easy when you start and you are new and excited. But it's more difficult to continue. Even so, I have promised myself I will update soon so stay tuned. Plan to do a nice little almost three year update. :)
+astrog8tr Hey! I know it may seem boring now but trust me. It can continue to be an exciting adventure for all of us. I definitely hope that you upload soon!
you are absolutely adorable okay? just how could anyone hate on you like ever (im just talking in general) and you're really helpful because im a very young trans guy and you make me happy because I'm realising that it's never too late to transition and that i can pass even when im older so thanks for that
Thanks young buddy, that's sweet. Oh gosh you are definitely NOT to old to transition. I was 65! It took me about 10 months to get read as male consistently. Usually it's a bit easier for younger guys, just because many young guys have little facial hair, so people will think you are about 12 when you might be 20. Really I am not hate on very much. I am pretty accepted even by people my own age, which maybe you wouldn't think. I live in Albuquerque, which is pretty accepting of queer people in general.
It's nice to see videos from older trans guys. I'm 50 and just opened up. I want to transition but need to see how older trans guys have dealt with menopause such as myself and other issues that the younger guys don't have to deal with. Thanks for the videos dude. I'm gonna watch all of them.
