The only way to find out if CE has any benefits is to do it your self and do your own research using your own research facility -- your body/mind. I found CE to be the silver bullet to the insomnia werewolf that has been hounding me for decades. Great vid, man! Thanks for your perspective. I want to get a chest freezer but I don't want to pony up for something new. Seems like a waste of money.
This is why I want to go. Experiences, memories, tough times and just the incredible places you’ll be able to go and the gorgeous sights to see. Even seeing that wind batter your tent, I found a strange calmness amongst the chaos. I live for these moments, I just crave to go see the world man, you’re inspiring me even more
it's a tin pan thin as paper meant for boiling water, cooking over a stove meant for boiling water with a tiny super heated flame. If I "let it cook," it would turn to charcoal.
I used to use the Gh5! That's how I started my career. At the time I made this video, there was only one solid option for 4k 60fps with good autofocus and that was the a7siii. I'd be open to trying other options now, but I dont usually change my camera systems that frequently
I like listening to shortwave radio from around the world.... Its not an active activity but how much activity can you do in a tent and storm..... I find it a great activity for the mind,, listening, scrolling the many stations listening to music and talk from around the world.... If you do decide to listen to shortwave you have to be patient,,, not all stations are on all day like regular radio,,, maybe a station guide book so you know the frequencies and times and after you get used to it all, you wont need the book, you'll know how to hunt and scroll the dial,,,,, just an idea.... Reading and listening is just too cool because every few seconds you are learning something you never knew before and will probably never like run into by accident in life, so you would have never learned that thing !!!! Oh yeah, if you do this, its best to get a very good quality radio 1st time, the less expensive radios don't really work so good but a good one can pull in stations like regular radio in the truck...... Stay Safe... (Grundig, Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom, Alinco ,,,,, all excellent radios,,,, And a long piece of wire for the antenna - 50 feet #18 wire will work fine !!!!) I don't why I went into all this - maybe because I like doing this in bad weather,,,, not all people do.... LOL )
DUDE,,, for as bad as that was,,, it was that good!!!! You cant have that experience in the van !!!! PLUS,,, look at the video you made and we all enjoyed and the experience you got to log under your belt !!! The day will soon come when you would pay, a lot, to be able to go back and do all that again!!! And I bet you know this already,,, the camps that were the worse experience ever at that time are now your fondest memories !!!! Stay Safe !!!!
Some under water scene was did without case? I have x2 and all of my videos under water are terrible, the light of each lens is different and the final result is very bad.
I bought my insta360 and got it last week since then I wasn't able to edit the recorded videos. I get a error message that says that the files are damaged or corrupted. I can't even play the videos on my x4. I tried to repair the files with the file repair computer Program from insta360 but wasn't able to repair the files. Costumer service also is very bad cause they take forever to respond. Iam very disappointed in insta360 because after all the youtube videos about the insta360 that speak positive about the insta360 x4 I really thought this was a good purchase. I really don't think I'll ever buy a product from them again. I’m also going to return the x4 and not recommend people buy it.
4:51 why is this not distorted or grainy? I mean, low light and slow mo at the same time? This is the reason why I don't use slow mo as well. The vid mode 5.7 30fps is grainy for me already (X3 user). Do you do manual settings?
Thanks for doing something most of us dreamed about trying since we were kids! That said, recognizing 1:10:1 why not attach a climbing like harness to help ensure escapability during the 1st minute and minimize risk during the next 10 mins? As well as having an existing fire going for the next hour? A BOGUS way to DIE DUDE! Rgds, DEN
Why isn't the camera working out of the box? And why can it only be unlocked with an Insta360 app? And not even with a PC, only via smartphone... How about making a video about that?
Yes, there are several pieces of tech that only work when paired with phones. I like things to work out of the box too, but I also understand why a brand wants to make sure the device has latest firmware. As for as "How about making a video about that?" why would I make a video about that? It's not a deal breaker for me, or interesting. I said multiple times in my first look video that I was using pre-production firmware. How would I possibly know what the user experience is like on a production shipped unit?
@@Levi_Allen I appreciate your answer, but having the latest firmware can't be the reason for the activation via smartphone and a special app or otherwise they would allow updates via PC and / or MicroSD card - and they would force you to do it regularly, not just once. I'm really curious why those companies, especially 影石创新科技股份有限公司, are forcing you to pair the camera you bought with your mobile phone. Especially since it's working for half a second until the screen is locked and the message about unlocking pops up. There is absolutely no good reason for that IMHO - and of course their customer service is ignoring all questions regarding that topic. That's why I thought it would make a really interesting video, don't you think? What's behind this? I recently bought a Nikon D7500 - that model is 7 years old, works perfectly fine without any updates straight out of the box. The 4 week old X4 doesn't. And nobody seems to be questioning it...
Hi Levi - great video! A total newbie to the world of 360 video here, but somewhat experienced with FCP. Trying to find a great workflow model and yours looks great and has lots of positive feedback - but before I jump in and make it my own, am wondering if (given the passage of time - ie this is 3 years old) the Insta360 Studio app and possible existence of updated FCP (+plug-in?) mean that there’s now an advantage to first dealing with footage in Insta360 Studio? Any advice would be most appreciated!
Yes, and the tracking features in the studio app have gotten really really good. I now essentially process all of my 360 footage into flat images from the studio app and then import
do you have links to the accessories not by insta360? I’m trying to find the ulanzi light stand but it looks pretty large to hold. Is it really a daily carry for you?
There is a screen streaming feature that's a little tough to explain. but it's the same way you use it during live streams on an iPhone, etc. If you google singing insta360 app for live streams, that's the method I used
Exactly, call it purse, murse, manbag or fanny pack, it's a must. I have one for my Sony RX100 V7 and the other for quick access to my DJI Air 2 with the GoPro selfie in hand when I'm backpacking and never having to unsaddle when out in nature.
I just tested for the first time my Insta360 X4 with the water Case for snorkeling compare to my Gopro 11, and let me tell you, I was so disappointed with the quality of the footage with the Insta360 X4. Am I the only one, or am I missing something here ?
A single sensor camera (like a GoPro, ace pro, iPhone etc.) will definitely have better image quality in a finished shot. The reason I like the 360 for underwater when there is good light, is for the floating camera look and the ability to re-frame.
I would remove them if you plan to single lens film. And then re-attach. If you are throwing camera into water, keep them on. Footage doesn’t work between the above and underwater without dive housing. I think it would be smart to remove them for dive housing as well.
The Sony 16-35 GM I. and this Tamron 35-150 is my new go to for travel, events and indoor sports lens combo! And honestly I couldn't agree more with everything you mentioned. I shoot with FX3 / A7IV and I love that the 4k60 is in super 35 crop in the A7IV... you can play around with focal lengths a lot! 16-35 becomes a 24-52 or a 35-150 becomes a 52-225 (without active stabilization). After hesitating between this Tamron 35-150 and the combination of the Sigma 24-70 & Sony 70-200 GM II obviously the price difference is huge ($1800 vs $3800)... the only true benefit I could find is the OSS in the Sony body nothing else really, the autofocus is amazing in the Tamron and that extra 50mm at the long end is not that big of a deal neither the 24 vs 35mm since I have a wider lens for that. and 2 camera bodies.
@@Levi_Allen if this lens would be a f2.8 all the way, but with OSS it would be literally the best lens ever made. That's why I am still thinking if I will keep it or get a 28-75 G2 and a Sony 70-200 f4 Macro... especially I do 70% video and 30% photo work so OSS is important over 70mm. On the other hand, changing lenses or even if you work with 2 bodies 2 lenses, switching cameras... you could potentially lose key moments. Hard decision for sure.
@@Levi_Allen You talking about the 24-105 f2.8 with OSS with internal zoom... for $2990? yeah it's amazing (also huge lens 2.9lbs) but that is probably the best video lens now. Versatile zoom range, f2.8, OSS and internal zoom, these are the most important features you need as a video creator.
I think this is a good idea. I see people put plasti dip on bare metal and it always ends up looking bad. The por15 is way better at adhering to the the metal.
