Thank you for posting this! Ive been missing this type of video since dawangthang stopped doing set critiques. Always nice to see someone sharing the knowledge :)
He is not just about the can. But still.. his game does revolve around it a lot at times. If you have good set up plays with the can. Also have a keen eye on your surrounding and your can at all times. You should be fine. There is still clay pigeon. Gunner is not bad either. You can hit the can around with you at times and carry it around with drags and hits. Know your can angles with can for your attacks when you strike it. Also great to know your timing with the can at times as it can help to fling it further when the time comes. Great with up tilt for air attacks or even weird angles. Hitting them on the other side makes them fly towards you with can. Good for follow up plays. You can also get cheeky with the hitbox with can from the back of it. It can lift them while you can follow and take advantage of it with an attack of your own. Can climb side of stage with can to edge guard. Also a weird hitbox at times with dash attack to make it fly behind you. Not sure if it happens all the time or not. But it still occurs. Can juggle can in air while you are in air with can. If you master not staying in place controlling can at times and still moving while ticking the can. The better. That goes into poking the can at all times and keeping it with you and launching it while you are in the air type of stuff. There was a neat trick to launch the can directly downward from edge of stage with Duck Hunt spike. Everyone knows the infamous throw into can. There might be more. 😅
Thanks for this! I've been wondering how people do more than 1 clay pigeon in a row. Definitely going to try it now. Guess I have to learn to put special Y now
Thanks a lot, this was very helpful! After 2 years i didn't know i had to time it. Love it! You should make a matchup chart or a guide on how to fight counter picks. Also what is your thoughts about footstool combos with clay pigeon?
That’s why I have so much faith in this character still is his ability to change the way he plays. And different duck hunts play so different! When someone masters all these styles I think our character can def be high tier.
I've been playing duck hunt for a long time now but I was wondering, if you had one piece of advice to give anyone who plays duck hunt in tournaments, what would it be. Thank you for all the great content
Hello World! (Sekai in Japanese means "world"). Too bad clay pigeon is low on your list, but for what it's worth, I'd love a video on the "jumping double or triple clay pigeon combo." I can't string too many together correctly.
i used to be a pacman main but switched to duck hunt - the can works a lot like pacman's hydrant but it's easier to manipulate and a lot less predictable. often times, once the can comes out, you can condition your opponent to interact with the can in very predictable ways (they'll avoid the can, attack the can, or shield) and I notice that once duck hunt mains condition their opponent to shield, they can grab and throw them into it. once that can comes out, the game honestly turns into a guessing game.
Thanks for these. I always love seeing DH analysis. Another note on can control is you can send it rocketing into the top corner of the screen with a dash attack. I use it to surprise people trying to recover back to stage. I deally they are forced to burn a dodge or expose themselves and thats when I set up a punish.
@ReeeMonke To put it simply, say you just hit with a smash attack. They go flying and now they're trying to land. I toss out a can and dash attack forward, sending it launching in their general direction. They can either take the hit, dodge or use a recovery move. I take the appropriate position to follow up whichever option they took with an attack of my own, which is the definition of a punish. Sometimes it's up air, sometimes it's gunmen. If I'm lucky I can catch them with clay pigeon and do something else after it. Its one of the perks of playing DH.
