Blessed are those who follow the Beer God, for the trilogy is with you, and hence from you shall go and make content over the internet for ever and ever. Remembered are the original five who dwell in purgatory. Touhou Project is with you always, and always there will be another number, but like stars in the sky you will populate the internet with content immemorial. Love those who do not know of you, for they will be blessed by the Hakurei Project even without their knowing, for you have pleased Beer God, and Touhou is plentiful and in all mediums. Hold true to Beer God and persist with Touhou, for you shall be blessed.
I'm under the impression that the C62 story is probably set long before the main series takes place, featuring a past generation Hakurei miko. Not confident in placing it at a specific point in time beyond "before Reimu, but after Gensokyo's creation". I like to think the "love potion" didn't kill its victim directly, but rather simply got them to lower their guard. C63 is... well, something. Clearly, it's not a singular narrative like the C62 one is. Each chapter seems to be self-contained. And they might even happen large amounts of time away from each other. The penultimate chapter definitely seems to fit this idea of Reimu mostly being visited by youkai. The third is probably about the Saigyou Ayakashi gradually losing its ability to bloom after being sealed, so probably set really long ago. The fifth strikes me as someone in the Outside World having thoughts on the idea of youkai. The first is clearly on the impossible requests, lol. For the rest, I am at a loss as to where and when their context could be. Some of them are so out there that they may not even mean much.
When I read the story, I felt like the cowardly one was the culprit The beautiful one and the cowardly one seems like they were romantically involved The most mature one was in love with a beautiful clown/pierrot and, unless they do lie, the beautiful one cannot be the clown "why don't I try pretending to be human just once more?" The wording implies that it is not the first time (if they are the culprit and the narrator for the little prologue and the interlude which, I think is implied, then it is the case)
Wow! Love this! I like this video because it has some information that I wouldn't really find elsewhere. This video is very insightful. I love the mythology inspiration. I always love the mythology inspiration for characters. That's the part of the video that amazed me.
WDS and KKHTA are my favourite anything from the touhou community. That ending even after being desensitised by kkhta AND spoiled in MiPP made me shed a tear nonetheless. MiPP is great but theres something about WDS that I cant help but just prefer. Also istg if relay if you're watching this instead of bothering to even watch WDS, I know where you live and I can hunt you down.
Another thing I wanna say is that if she's based on Kamuoichihime, the elder sister of Iwanagahime and KonoSayukahime, she could be also related to the mountains. That's why Megumu saw her as a threat to Tengu society because she could reclaim the yokai mountain that her sister Iwanagehime was her previous owner.
It's definitely true that Chimata grew to be a threat to Megumu, or at the very least her plans. Had a bit about that originally but ended up cutting it, in a way it's probably more relevant to Megumu so it'll go in that video whenever I get to it.
If she is based on Kamuoichihime, then you could say that the bag she hanged it on her belt could be full of grains, since Kamuoichihime is also the goddess of grains.
2:50 wait, so all the jokes and fanon stuff I've seen with Kogasa babysitting is just because Zun wanted to make a joke about Mary Poppins ? Zun really has a problem with bad puns and references
My friend is someone who love Kogasa and he said how much he wants to hug her. He never wanted to see R34 pics of kogasa and hated those, and he just want to hug... Anyways Kogasa is cute ngl, good video as always.
She’s not officially a member of Myouren Temple, but she’s frequently shown being very friendly with its members. Additionally, there are a few instances where Byakuren speaks of her as if she’s much closer to them, and at least one where she somewhat acknowledges this (in Cheating Detective Satori, when Byakuren laments at how ill-coordinated the temple members are in a crisis, Kogasa seems to acknowledge herself as also at fault). I’d imagine this is not only due to Byakuren’s personality, but also because Kogasa is exactly the sort of youkai Myouren Temple appeals to most: weak, at risk of fading, and searching for purpose.
She's adorable. I love learning about the Touhou cast and the creatures/beings they're based on. Here's hoping we get Yuuma and the Taotie later down the line.
Technically speaking, Tatara isn't her last name but her family name or surname. Name order differs of between the cultural east (surname then given name) and the cultural west (given name then surname). Some translators choose to keep the eastern name order but others choose to westernize them. What further complicates things is that Touhou is not always consistent with name order. Plus, some Touhou characters have a western style name order due to their origins. Thus I think it would be a better editorial option to not use the terms first and last name. My personal preference is for the eastern name order to be used for eastern characters and the western name order to be used for western characters.
I get what you mean, and I wanna believe most people understand that too so I don't think it's that big a deal. I'd rather keep things familiar and I usually refer to characters by their given name anyways so, I say/write that first. Except the intro cards for which I'll just purely follow the order they're written in Japanese, regardless of their origin (i.e. Tatara Kogasa; Flandre Scarlet). I also didn't give much thought to the 'last name' thing, but now that you mention it I agree on the connotations it has in this case. I'll use a different term in the future.
I do Hope we get to see a New Satori Youkia in the next Official Touhou Title sense Both New Oni, Tengu and Kappa Got New Members reveal in touhou 18 and Touhou 19 i personally think it should be about time to introduce a new Satori that isn't just the Komeji Sisters but thats just My Opinion
Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure. It's a pretty disturbing fanwork, I'd recommend reading up some things about it if and before you decide to engage with it. I just mentioned it here because it also built a following around the same time as YouReimu.
I discovered yoreimu like a month ago, and i dont know if i hate it or love it. I hate it because its so sad. But i love it because in the same time its one of the most heart warming and emotional comic that i have ever see.
Thank you for bringing attention to such an old story, it is very nice to see people talk about it to this day! The moment to talk about your experience brings a nice personal touch to the video and it's always awesome to learn people's view on things and why they relate to them! I'm eager to watch more of your videos!
