Where was you yesterday when I needed you lol . I came in the shop looking for a rod and the helper there knew very little about what poles was what. I was looking to spend money but didn't know what was good wanted to buy a sv diawa with a rod set up. Maybe next time I come in we can take some time to get me set up
The 6th Sense looks more like a 6' 6" maybe in reality, no? Measure them from center reel to rod tip because it doesn't really matter how long the rod is when it's measured from behind the reel. Thu butt just helps with rod-reel balance. I have a couple 9' & 9' 6" musky rods that only differ by 2" in the mid-reel to tip length because the butt is 4" longer on the bigger rod ... the real meat & potatoes of how to measure a rod IMHO is mid-reel to tip; sorta my entire point to take into account with rod choices when someone suggests the ideal length. Look at the butt length of the 6th Sense. For that rod to need such a long butt, it's probably not a lightweight rod at all or the balance would be off & be a PITA with a day of casting.
Personally-no expert here but as a Zimbabwean who the only frog fishing we do is buzz toad fishing-the exprite action doesn’t quite match what I personaly need-I know that this isn’t a great ansew, side note I use a kistler helium 7’6 5 power
Absoltely would make a great shakey head rod, as long as we are talking about the more finesse side of the technique. It wouldn't make a PERFECT shakey head rod, in our opinion, but it would get the job done.
How would the NRX+ 852 S do for neko? Figured it’s an amazing shakey head rod so might be a good neko rod too. Also wondering about the P5 Addermine? Thanks!
I use the nrx852s for neko. I think it’s great, but it’s not good for lighter baits. So for example, I normally neko rig a 5 inch senko with a 3/32 oz weight and it’s great. If I switch to an xzone deception worm with the same weight, the rod doesn’t cast very good at all. Hopefully that helps ya.
Would agree with Justin's assessment. It works well on the heavier side/deeper water.......When you get into the more finesse presentations, a lighter rod is needed.
The Jig & Worm rods have a faster tip. The Spin Jig series have a more traditional taper. They are typically a "Fast" action instead of an "Extra-Fast" action.
Do you have this rod? I'm in the market for a mid strolling/fitness rod that is sensitive. I'm waiting for the new shimano poison adrena. But the reviews on this one pretty good.
@@garydennis5178 I have the GLX 841S SJR for ned/neko, and the GLX 891S JWR for mid stroll/drop shot. I've always prefered the Loomis over the Shimano, do have 7'0 glass Expride B for squarebills and 7'2 glass for jackhammers/heavy cranks
Hey! Tell Gary at Dobyns we need more grip on the forward side of the reel seat. A lot of us spin rod user tend to grip the rod between the middle finger and ring finger. 😬 if Dobyns need some example. The Daiwa AGS rods are really well built in terms of rod handles.
I’m a Dobyns fan however the warranty process is lack luster compared to a comparable St Croix 15 year unlimited. Most of us take care of our rods however I’ve seen 2 Dobyns that broke on fish In which both owners were charged the “cost price replacement”…which we all know is true “cost”.
I was hoping for a 726c and 756c personally. These are some really impressive sticks but it sounds like people have had enough of the forward facing conversation 😉
Not sure I'll ever be able to afford one of these but they look awesome and that 6'10 ml looks like it would be an amazing drop shot rod. I'm really starting to like the Kaden series and the medium fast and medium light spinning Kadens have worked well for me when I do this sort of thing. I actually prefer a willowvibe to a standard 'strolling' rig most of the time but I have been using them both (depending on the overall lure weight) and they have been nice to me. I also picked up a couple of the Kaden crankbait rods recently and have been enjoying them too...the shorter one is awesome for throwing hard jerkbaits.
I have the 6th Sense ESP 6'10 m/f I got for jerkbaits, meh.... but absolutely love it for shallow cranks! No issues pulling in a 6.8lb Lmb on a 6th Curve Finesse SB and a 30" Atl. Striper on a DT6
