Why don’t jimmy put in 40 lands in his decks. It’s better to watch him playing cards instead of always watching him hoping to get lands to be able to pay spells
Henzie is a great commander for new players, since it's multiple colors but really all you need is some ramp spells, some utility cards, and some Jund guys with ETB, attack, or death triggers that are around 4 or 5 mana. You can make it as expensive or as cheap as you want and it's a deckbuilder's paradise so you can really bond over suggestions and pet cards in the deck; plus it's a little bit of everything and can help new players build a collection.
I am always delighted to see Becca Scott, perhaps my favorite (celebrity) nerd on the whole internet. Her appearance on The Command Zone with Joe Manganiello years ago is one of the first times I saw much of her and I fell in love with the playful energy she brought to the table. And then I saw her on dimension 20s one off campaigns (I hope to God for your sakes she didn't bring any "cooch-bucha" lol), and Game changer, etc. and she still has that joyful energy in spades. What a treat to see her joining you guys. The catdog deck was nuts man! Just got off the ground running and never stopped. Also, important note for Lua: Lara Croft can target ANY graveyard for her exile effect, not just yours. ;)
So many good cards I think the new MDF lands will slowly become staples for commander decks. I also love the Graveyard Overdrive precon! With new set gameplay I think other people are right that out of the box gameplay has become a bit of a saturated market. So upgraded gameplay or new commanders would be more interesting to watch.
I think $50 upgrade would be a good route for the video or building a commander deck with a different legend from the set because lots of other channels usually only release just the out-of-box pre-cons against each other. I feel y'all on the hole it burned in my wallet haha split a box with a friend, my lgs did $75 for pre-release and I bought 3 out of 4 of the precons to take apart and rebuild. My favorite cards are for sure the mdfcs and the flares. My promo was Eladamri Korvecdal, what did everyone here open up as their promo card?
Omo was kind of the only Commander that interested me but it fits so perfectly in my gates/initiative deck. Same thing with Calamity. It's getting harder and harder to consider building around new commanders because most are clearly pointed as support pieces in know archetypes yet not many actually do something better than established commanders. The most recent legendary commander that has survived the 99 culling in my collection is Shorikai. I think it's mainly because I don't know anyone even remotely trying to run a vehicle typal deck and it's stuff that which appeals to me most. I don't like the possibility of mirror matches so I never build anything based on known commonality and use. Everyone at my lgs knows I love my Esika deck which is just pretty random stuff. I think there are quite a few cards that god 3 different art variants because I've been watching openings and my flooded strand doesn't look like any that have been opened. It's weird but cool lol. There are a lot of good cards in this set to tickle anyone's fancy. Hopefully everyone is getting something they need or desire. The set is expensive but worth it in well calculated moderation. Anyway, hope yall are having fun🥰
