Solid content! Curious about your take on Ooma versus Thirdlane for example. I keep hearing good things about Thirdlane's UCaaS solution, especially their features such as multi-tenancy.
I’m sticking with my copper line as long as possible. You see I get broadband along my copper feed into my house. So my telephone works as normal with it’s feed of 50v from the local exchange and I get broadband at 50Mb/s which is more than enough for my purposes. ( why people want a faster broadband service is beyond me other than to play on line games). I like the copper fed telephone because it is private and has a good ring throughout my house and is good for emergency use especially if the power fails. It frees me from having a Mobile phone which I find a nuisance. I can also have several extensions which you cannot with fibre. VOIP is now the norm with fibre which is very cheap nearly no cost at all for calls yet the fibre providers charge for the telephone or talk facility! Stick with copper, because when it is gone, it is gone forever! As regards international calls, I use WhatsApp or Skype on my computer.
Hey i have a landline phone that acts as my apartment buzzer but has no landline telephone connection. Id like to replace it with something that forwards that call to my phone. Is this possible? What is this tech or hardware called? I want to let delivery drivers in when im not home
I work as an IT Service Desk professional for a company. Recently, my supervisors informed me that they view my high First Call Resolution (FCR) rate as a problem. They would rather I focus on completing calls within 8 minutes or less. While simple tasks like password resets and account unlocks can be handled within that timeframe, more complex issues require more time. Factors such as the complexity of the issue and the user's familiarity with computers significantly impact the duration of a technical support call. It's unrealistic to expect every call to be resolved in 8 minutes, especially when guiding less tech-savvy users through troubleshooting steps. My manager even suggested that I should instantly know the cause and solution for issues like files mysteriously deleting after downloading. However, understanding the user's actual problem and identifying the cause is a different matter altogether. From our recent meeting, I got the impression that they want me to avoid resolving calls that take longer than 8 minutes. I took this job to help people with their technical issues, not to rush through calls just to lower my Average Handle Time (AHT).
2:40 Did he just say that some carriers will not be able to port VOIP numbers"? So if I port a landline number to a VOIP carrier, I may not be able to port it out to another carrier?
we got a (BT Decor 2200 V2) phone with a RJ11 pluged in from the phone to the (EX230v Router) but no tone or anything when I listen to the reciver - but the little green light with the phone icon is on solid & green - but not sure if its all done migrating over to the new sytem yet as we want to keep our old number but the internet part is working just no functional phone use yet don't even know if our phone is even compatible - not sure how long I should leave it before ringing my ISP to ask why its not working or if its working
Strange that most videos only tell you the concept, they don't tell you how it actually works and being setup, via what mean, a mobile app? A software or web app that needs to be opened all the time with internet connection? How do we receive an incoming SMS? These are the things that I want to know.
i need help in my residential apt lol so much jitter i cant game online competetively it completely ruins the experience but offline the games fell great and smooth .btw its not lag im experiencing its like a data loss or something making the online gaming experience very unpleasant on the eyes and hard to aim
But I did go buy a net gear nighthawk xr1000 , but it doesn’t really seem to solve this issue as I thought it’s routers like the IQrouter that actually do real time calculations apparently but they discontinued I wonder why, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the router because it had like fq_codel or that cake smart algorithm that solves this issue ?
Sales much? Landlines aren't near as difficult as sold here. Just remember if your Internet or power goes down your voip does too, but landlines continue working if setup correctly. And no choppy calls and the phones also are wireless to the base.

I’m keeping my POTS line as long as I can. I enjoy odd analog telephony, like fax and dial up modems, which just work better on a POTS line. I am, however, wanting to set up a PBS in home so I can tinker with IP phones since I’m wanting to get into VoIP stuff. So I’m thinking of a PBX with an FXO card to get the best of both worlds.
