Kids can get on Google and RU-vid through some of the apps on Troomi, but Troomi warns parents before they approve any specific app which has this possibility.
Many of Troomi's "vetted" apps have this warning "Contain a built in web browser that may allow web access." and my kids have gotten around this restriction to get full access to the Internet and unrestricted RU-vid many times.
Yes, there are apps that will allow kids onto a web browser. Troomi is good about showing this warning on applicable apps. Since they do not own those apps they cannot restrict what the apps allow. As a parent you have to decide if you want to allow those apps for your kids.
Is there a Gabb Phone with a notes app that can transfer notes from the phone to a pc via a USB plug? Also can the phone be purchased without buying a plan? I'm looking for a pocket sized device just for notes that is completely self reliant and doesn't need internet or an e-mail. Something strictly for taking notes. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
My question is about data usage. I don’t want to pay the highest price for unlimited data, but then I’m concerned about my child over using apps and wracking up a huge Data usage bill. Do they have any warnings about reaching data limit etc?

Troomi does not have speech to text. I would recommend the Gabb Watch 3. It has speech to text and is great for younger kids. Check out our video for more info.
Really? I thought all Samsung phones would have voice text. My child is older, but has disabilities that may require voice texting. I’m glad I saw this!
We love thr bark app, its been great for our family. We have it on our 11 year olds phone and its been so helpful. She disabled it recently and my husband and me both got notifications and went yo our daughter immediately, she wanted to watch south park episodes aswell as movies like Smile and The boogeyemam nope! Luckily we were able to get their before she could see anything innapropriate. Im so grateful to bark for protecting our little girl from dangers online and protecting her innocence from innapropriate content.❤
No app is required to receive texts from the Gabb Watch 3! You receive a regular text message to your phone when it's sent from the Gabb Watch 3. That's one reason we like it over most similar products.
Great review! I just ordered the phone, but we’ve been using the bark app for some time now. I decided to opt for the phone now since my child is now a teenager and has access to social media. The bark app and Apple products aren’t always compatible when it comes to monitoring third party apps. The bark phone will make that easier now, I hope! I like that it isn’t as invasive as other phones are. Why do I want to break the trust my child has in me if I don’t need to-ya know? But I love that key words are flagged and I can review and decide if I bring it up or not - like your example about sports and the word “hit”

Thank you for this! Have you notice any problem with delays on GPS notifications? I saw one review that said the Gabb 3 was slow to alert when the watch had left the "zone." Have you noticed that at all?
My wife set it up and she is the primary and I am set up as guardian. I don’t have the ability to change contacts, set limits, etc. is there a way for both of us to be “primary” so I can edit the limits, contacts, etc?
No, they didn't. They may have copied the video from another computer to a micro SD card and used it in the phone. I've checked with the highest tech android developers and they say the gabb phone is so locked down that even they cannot do that.
I am considering one for my 9 year old (almost 10) who won't have a phone anytime soon, can I ask why you feel it wouldn't be good for his age? Just trying to decide!
It's great for this age. Depending on the child, it could work for kids up to 12. I love that it gives kids a little bit of freedom to communicate but parents can control the contact list and see where there kids are. Let me know if you have more questions.
It is water resistant, meaning it's fine to have on while washing hands or walking in the rain or snow. Gabb doesn't recommend swimming with the watch on.
Does the watch give a notification on the screen or sound when they have a text message come in? We recently bought this watch and it seems like the only way to can see if my son has a text he has to go check. Any idea if this is a setting that I can turn on?
@Mommyhighfive I have done both of those settings, but with the watch is at rest and have a black screen it doesn't come up and say he has a text message. Does that make sense? It will only ding for a text message if he gets one while on the watch and has messages open. I tried chatting with Gabb, but they didn't understand what I was asking.
@@sendingpixiedust5668 i just had the same issue. Turn it off and wait a few minutes and turn it back on, then the text notifications worked for me. Prior to turning it off, it was not alerting when I would send test texts to the watch during initial set up. Hope it helps!

LOTs of reviews on Amazon complain of a really short battery life. People had to recharge it after only 4 hours or at best in early afternoon. What has been your experience?
Actually, we've had no problem with battery life. It lasts around 24 hours for us. I can't imagine how it would only last a few hours unless it wasn't fully charged to start with. We have ours in school mode during the school day, but it is used fairly frequently besides during school hours. The parent app will also tell you how much battery life is remaining. Mine was fully charged 18 hours ago and is now at 57% battery life.
Spotify Kids is already moderated so all explicit songs aren’t allowed on it! Amazon Music can also be modified by parental controls. If you still don’t like these solutions, you can buy an SD card and load songs onto that that they can play.
I really want a freeze dryer but I would end up only using it for candy every now and then. I would not have thought to use it the way you do. Great video!

I LOVE that they can still send an SOS message to a parent and then I can turn school mode off temporarily to let them call me if they need to during lunch or passing time.
Hi. I have a seven year old. Tried the Apple Watch this new school year. It has a school mode that he can easily get out of and ultimately got him in trouble cuz it’s distracting at school. When you say sos mode. What exactly does the child do to get in that mode ? Is it easy ? Can they go into sos mode as much as they want ?
The Gabb Watch 3 is out now, we just bought our son one (he's 12 and doesn't want a phone). They are allowed to call/text guardians even in school mode. This is huge to me because I don't want him playing with it at school but I want him to be able to get ahold of me and vice versa....it's the whole reason I wanted the watch! They simply press the SOS button on the side of the watch for 4 seconds and it will open up the guardian contact(s) and let them call/text. And if I call/text him it will go through. Or you can just turn off school mode remotely to send them a message, wait for the reply and then turn it back on. :)
