Heated steering wheel and memory seats came for us in the US on 24' but not sure the outfit for y'all down south. The butt portion of the seats look like they're not going to wear well, and I'm waiting for mid-generation with iterative updates such as ventilated seats at a minimum as I would hate to buy early into this gen and only have that upgraded in a year or two, already waited this long up here for the Raptor in the first place.
Joel! Long time since the last time we caught up! Just had this video pop up in my feed, good review of the truck. The 2.0L raptor in orange is something we’re considering for my next company vehicle so it’ll be good to see what you do with it!
Do you have the 2.0 now? Could you give a quick run down on it? Does it perform like the previous raptor? And is there any missing features compared to the v6?
Yes I have the 2.0L now. It’s much the same as the old PX Raptor. Still an amazing machine. Over the V6 it is missing the front diff lock and the live valve suspension. It’s also a lot slower and doesn’t sound as good. But I can get double the millage over the V6 and it still looks and feels the same. It’s a daily driver where the V6 is a weekend toy.
I believe the reason why Ford will never release a ranger raptor with a v8 engine is exactly the same reason as why you are selling the v6 and going to a biturbo mate. Its just cheaper to run, by alot. The v6 gets 400-500km range per tank, super charged v8 probably 300km per tank, maximum. Who needs that much power when speed limit is 90-100km/h
Haha yes but how much fun would it be for that 300km haha . I will be going back to the V6 after this 2.0L Camper build. I don’t mind paying for the gas as it’s smiles the whole time.
Yep sold it for the most simple reason; 1- doesn’t have V8 like raptor R 2- Hud display that will add couple of thousands to its price 3- it doesn’t have memory seats, heated seats heated steering!
😢 sad to see this one go, it is an absolute beast of a build. I will no doubt pick your brain in future when I start to add more serious off road mods to mine, I am considering slightly bigger tyres and a winch bar when the fam & I start to hit the Aussie offroad icons 🇦🇺🤘
How many kms are you actually getting in the diesel, especially now its loaded up with camping gear? I get 550kms a tank on my V6 and when I test drove a desiel one with a full tank it was showing 650 to empty
HUD - $80 landed, run off your OBD2. Electric memort seats - in Raptor - makes little sense. Vented seats - yeah, agee 100%. Your buying a whole heap of engineering injected in a trade truck, not a luxury car.
Yes the seats are already electric seats but I was asking for the memory function where I can have pre set positions saved for myself and my much shorter wife for simple press. Does the Heads up you use show the gear you are in or just the speed?
Why do memory seats make little sense? Properly integrated HUD needs a special windscreen to prevent ghosting. The film layer between the two pieces of glass needs to be tapered instead of flat.
Hi there I have a question I purchased a 2018 wildtrak went to use roller door lid for first time and there was a screw that holds the cover on lodged inside roller mechanism and it's scratched right along all slates. Took back to dealer they opened up and found it they can't work out how it got there and said maybe even from manufacturer it could have been lost and lodged there interesting original owner and salesman when opening didn't scratch it only when I got home and tried it it's somehow lodged there. No missing screws from cover either?
Hard to know sorry. Easy for a screw to had been left on top of your roller lid. Maybe even if they changed the number plate over or something. Hard to know if the screw is from the lid without seeing a photo of the screw.
You need to pull it off and then get a blanking plate to fit into its place or duct tape over the hole. If you pull the black plastic cover towards you with your finger nails in under the plastic it will pop this cover off. You will then see the 2x tork screw’s you need to undo
Hi Man, great review. I’ve got 15,000 km’s on mine and I’m having an issue with a inconsistent idle, which is really noticeable when the ac is on, the dealership keeps telling me they’ve never experienced it before, any ideas what it could be? Or anyone with similar issue?
@@joeldstirling thank you for coming back to me, I’ve asked the dealership on the last two drop offs about the spark plugs and they keep telling me they’ve checked and they’re all good. Now I’ve been told a representative / specialist from head office can only come out in 2 weeks to check for me, so here’s hoping, but thanks again. Will let you know 🤝🏻

Great review. In many ways you have a better RR than we get here in the States. You have grab handles on your A-pillar we do not and desperately need them. You also have vents for your rear passengers, we have an empty storage hole. Love the bumpers as and would love more information about those. I also noticed the aftermarket wheels, are you running 35's or still 33's?
This PRChina's 7-Stars, Sanya Beauty Crown Hotel at Hainan City has been reported to be closed and shuttered. Attempts to book room from various International Hotel Websites/Platforms ...only being redirected to other Hotels. From your Drone-Views/recording, the entire Hotel areas also looked deserted and there were very few people sighted at the entire Hotel Areas, around or just outside, no Hotel Guests ... arriving nor departing. Any update why these beautiful and expensive to build 7-Stars Hotel shuttered in 2024 ???

Hey mate iv installed the same lights in my Px2 xlt and when I turn the key off at night with the lights in and even remove the key the engine still runs until I turn the lights off manually any ideas ?

The only thing Im gonna say is that the running boards are a bad choice for an off-road rig. For one, they hate dirt and debris, after having them for a few years youll find the hinges getting stuck and not working properly. Secondly, they are lower to the ground, so if you're trying to break over a hill or rocks, you could trear them up or could potentially make it easier to get high centered. They are nice for street vehicles but not for something like this. But overall, it's a sick build man.
I guess it all comes down to the brand you buy. I never had an issue with these steps. I loved them. I have since sold this Raptor and I am onto the next build where I will add the same steps onto it
@joeldstirling but how long have you ever owned the steps though??? You need to own them for a few years to get the issues with the hinges to show their ugly face. The truck just doesn't need them either way you cut the cake. It's not a tall enough truck and the factory steps act as a protective shield as well. The only benefit is for looks and that is still subjective. I just don't understand spending so much money to downgrade a component
It was a great experience. The pilot owner was only a couple of years younger than me and was an ex Royal New Zealand Airforce A4 Skyhawk pilot, and boy could he fly.
Hi Joel.. hoping to pick your brain on the PX1 Wildtrak roller shutters. There are 2 black L shaped brackets on each side that bolt up under the roller shutter track and then bolt onto what looks like an identical bracket that is fixed to the tub somewhere. Can you advise what the brackets fixed to the tub are screwed into and how solid this might be ? I have accessories fitted to the roller shutter track that sometimes get on the heavy side and I am not sure how strong the roller shutter track is as Mountain Top say one thing and Ford say another....
They sound like the bracket that holds the front of the wikdtrak tub liner in place. If you are not using the wikdtrak liner then they will not be needed
The color accents in the interior are not going to change, that's the Raptor style. You can always get some seat covers but the other accents are still there.
