I once spoke to a guy who claimed to be the Architect for the tower. He claimed they built the top first then jacked it up the 5 inches a day as they built the tower. It is also designed to sway 15 feet on a calm day in case of earth tremors . It is only hear say so I don`t know how true it is.
I worked on the audio video fittout on the towe, there were absolutly NO SAFETY BARRIERS on the then open windows, every now and then i still have nightmares about falling as i had to work right beside the outside, with a view almost straight down. We used to get $2.92 per hour danger money.

Wow. Way better visual than anything i saw at Penn State. I would like to build some larger models. Maybe sandpaper on the surface or magnets to help initial assembly. I wonder if theres some Higher level mechanics like a Lagrangian of the centers of mass and friction at tangent points to help describe the “thrust curves” that develop
