IF this was where i work id have gotten writed up for No gloves Walking off moving machinery walking over pallet not wrapping half way Not bending and lifting correctly LOL oh and reversing out an aisle
In a way, it can be fun unless you’re working 10+ hours a day. The vocalect is annoying cause you have to repeat yourself at first but once you get it right, if you bend properly and can work fast you get to build pallets your way all night.
i did this shit for over 12 years plus enough overtime to make you puke. i spent most of my time in produce, dairy and meats. started with stickers, then scanners then that vocollect bullshit. This job can chew you up.
I hit 4 months and I’m running a 115 avg to 105. I’m fdd2 freezer ! But today I pulled a muscle and I’m screwed it hurtssss ! Lift properly… they said but how do u hit production… ??? If u bend knees and so forth??
I worked under engineered work standards for 11 years. I caught the company under weighing and under measuring boxes. Gives you less time and expenditure of joules for their algorithm. Gives you less time than whats fair. And we would have 40 of those pallet jacks at a time plus standups in your way. Its a good workout.
DONT BE FOOLED!!! Order selecting is modern day slavery ESPECIALLY if you don’t kiss the supervisors azz every day you will NEVER make production. No matter how hard/fast u move, u will NEVER hit production then whenever u question them about how your percentage so low they will blame it on you and tell u “the system” is accurate it’s just you’re not working hard enough
I hate being an outbound loader because the physical demands of the job. Loading goods onto outbound vehicles often involves heavy lifting, repetitive motions, and working in potentially uncomfortable or cramped spaces. This physical strain can lead to fatigue, soreness, and an increased risk of injury, which can make the job challenging and unpleasant over time. Additionally, if the workload is consistently high or if there are unrealistic expectations for productivity, it can exacerbate these physical demands and contribute to feelings of frustration and dissatisfaction with the job.
I did this for seven years at Kroger Distribution. My last year was 2011, I was averaging at 24.00 hrs and 55 hours a week . Free good insurance.. It's was a good.. I wasn't lifting properly, my back started bothering me, and I got burned out... It's kept me in good shape...
You have to be going fast the 10-12 hours that you work. You can’t even stop to help someone with a question because the mic picks up anything and you the computer can get it as answer leading you to errors. You have an amout of errors a month and they start giving you write ups. This freaking job sucks!!! Don’t do it yall!!!
I worked for the hardest warehouse us foods and I hated it they want u to move at a 103 every batch yea it’s good money but it’s the mental part u have to have more than anything
I work for them now and it’s 85 percent mental and 15 % physical. You have to be cut a certain way to be a great selector. Me myself I’m a 🦍 so it’s not that bad in the jungle for me ! Ya mean ? 😂
i work at Walmart dc weekend nights and I make 30 dollars starting out I plan on maybe trying to be a loader or unloader or something once i have been there for a couple months
I don't even hear no one else there. He must be working on a day the place is suppose to be closed. Or one of the big Holiday eves. When you will get paid double plus the truck driver will slip you something. Cause it's a last minute order and the stores paying extra also. I remember those days, did it for 20 years. Now I do security. Lol! 😊
Interesting, I worked a grocery warehouse before and we had maybe 1 or 2 pallet jacks that was capable of transporting 3 pallets but we never used them. We only used double pallet and single pallet jacks(usually loaders would use singles). What was the purpose of slapping a sticker on each box? Seems like a massive waste of time. Also the selecting path for that warehouse is absolutely fucking terrible Jesus! Whoever set that up and engineered it is a moron. When I did selecting we had printers every where, call your next order on the head set, go to a printer and it prints out labels for your order. Tells you the weight, how many cubes it is, if it was a two pallet order then it would print two labels to put on after wrapping it. Also has store location information on the label so when loaders went to load it they could load the truck based on the truck drivers route.
All was good, I just would have started wrapping the pallets from the bottom up; reason being if you get dizzy or lightheaded after several times going around you would be standing up wrapping the top of the pallet instead of bending over wrapping the bottom.
