Thanks for watching . Best of luck . Take your time , this was a hard one and why I filmed it . The worst part is fitting all the wires back under the main connection plate , so try not to pull as many out as I did . Also , on another occasion not long after this , when I assembled the plane , one aileron wasn't working . On closer inspection one of the pins in the connection plate was pushed out of its socket . I put adhesive on the wires where they enter all the plugs so they can't "Push Out " again . I like the quick connect system but you really need to be careful lining it up . I try to leave it assembled as much as possible because. So far , this metal gear replacement servo has been OK and no other issues expect the terrible nose gear , which has been upgraded now too . .
Ok Philip I seen the issue with the take off you only had one cup of coffee this morning you need at least 4 cups on take offs lol but the plane looks great and you flew it nice another one for my bucket list lol good job👍👍👍👍😊😊😊
I have the exact same problem but when I pulled the wires out the transmission bell housing I saw 8 wires in the drivers side part of the harness. My 02 sensor only has the 4 wires. White, purple, grey, green.
Hi . The driver side is a different part of the main harness . the Passenger side front O2 sensor "T's off the transmission harness , its only about 4 inch long before it goes to the plug , and located right on top of the trans , very hard to even see let alone reach . Hope that helps.
Thanks Jeff . Good advice always . The newer gear doors seem to be much better , I don;t know why they made them so complicated on this , Just screw them to the struts like everyone else does . LOL
More good flying with your Mustang ! It sure has a good presence in the air. I don't have that P-51, but my 1.2 model has some similarity. The little plastic gear doors, etc. are not very robust - and seem to need a little help. But my main comment would be about using flaps. Taking off is fine with or without a bit of flap. However, I commonly use the 'take off' flap setting since I don't see any negatives - and I feel that the extra lift can help to have a bit of insurance against a stall lifting off. And, I virtually always land with full flaps . . . (maybe not on a windy, gusty day.) The main thing that I like about the P-51's flaps is that using them does not have a significant effect on the trim. For myself - I have not found the flaps to cause the plane to balloon up. I may keep in a little more throttle during the approach to maintain the speed I want, but that's about it. Best of luck on your future missions!
Thanks JR . Always good advice and to compare notes so to speak . I've been using flaps more and more on all the planes and notice the same things . I'd like to get the landings shorter and hopefully avoid the skid outs . I wonder how much function as opposed to just appearance they have on RCs .?? Sometimes they change the dimensions or size to accommodate . As far as this p-51 goes , I barely noticed anything with mid flaps on this except a tiny bit more lift . Haven't tried full flaps yet . The FMS 1100MM Zero on the other hand, has a huge change in attitude with just take off flaps added ...and they are only split flaps ...same as the Spitfire has ...but again on that plane , they have very little effect . I guess they are just different on each aircraft . Cheers my Friend .
@@PhilipCockram I agree. I have a 1400 mm Zero / FMS and that plane wants to nose up a lot when I put flaps down. One thing I like about using flaps is that the plane can come in a bit slower and lighter if you have your finesse working. And so I feel the landing gear is not stressed as much with a 'light' gentle landing.
@@jollyroger2226 Sorry, missed this one . it would figure the larger one would behave the same . i think there's even a 800MM from them also . but probably has no flaps . I agree a gentle landing is prefered . I've already had some bent and broken gear . And your also correct that it requires more finesse to avoid last second dumps or ballooning . Practice makes perfect as they say . Cheers .
Hey Philip! It's not how you start, it's how you finish lol! Yeah man, she as in most P-51 are a bear on the ground handling (ground loop machine lol)! That's why on your maiden flight you did great taking off, flying and landing! Still great flight and landing man! Thumbs up!
Thanks as always Fred . Everyone's help and advice on this and all the planes has been so welcome and grateful . It's such a heavy bird and narrow strip that almost any correction has little effect once its gone to the left or right. While i wish it was a few feet wider , the weeds and grass along the edges are better than ditches or concrete curbs . i almost thought I'd have find another place to fly this because of the size , but now that I have the blessings direct from the owners, to use this field , I was / am determined to make it work . But thats it though . 1.5M is my size and pocketbook limit 😂
Thanks for watching . They are very close when it comes to top speed , about 75 MPH for both. Depends on the battery and conditions . Other than the wheels , thats about all thats the same comparing these two . They share the same STOL features also but fly totally different . The TT EVO is a more well rounded design and the X is better oriented for stunts and 3D stuff . if I could only have one it would definitely be the TT EVO . Partly because the X has not been updated for several years now . And the very small bottom loading hatch is a real pain compared the the EVO. Hope that helps .
@@timmytfpv7316 You're welcome . The TT EVO is awesome , you won't regret it. The wing and plug attachments are a top feature as well , I leave the elevator on so you can assemble this in like 45 seconds .
Thanks Alan . It's going to be a lot of fun working one those . I've had some nice rollers on the mains , but when the tail touches and changes direction its so heavy there very little chance to correct . Wish my runway was just a few feet wider . Cheers ,
I got one of these a couple of weeks ago when they were on sale. In 1969, I crash landed an RC plane under the back of my 1968 Mustang. The car was ok, but the plane wasn’t..
Thanks for watching . Hope you enjoy it .I've had couple close calls lately, Wish I could park a little further away ....and stop aiming for it . LOL .
The best flying mustang I've come across yet. Excellent maiden Phil. Love the back story on the plane. I did the same thing with a dynam 1100mm p 51 i waited 2 year's to fly it. Im pretty sure I crashed it on the maiden. But I fixed it and still have it. And it still flys just not as stable as this one. Nicely done Phil 😊
Big Blue & Lil blue mustangs! Don't know which one I like more. Guess since I am a mustang gal myself, I think the big one first. Ti's truly a hard decision.
Great Maiden of a great plane. Love the smell of a fresh P-51D. I have 277 flights on my 1.5m E-flite P-51 thinking about buying a new one because it's getting worn out. 🍁 🍁 🍁
Thanks Tug ! WOW 277 and you keep count ...nice . That speak volumes . Hopefully they will come on sale again for you . I was a little concerned about durability after a few minor hiccups , already snapped 1 blade and had issues with those gear doors . Last night I just found the ' new better ' ones they put in the box and installed those . Ready for more action today . Cheers . 🇨🇦
Thanks Jeff . This was 2 Birthdays and Christmas for me . Long time coming . And I'm very grateful to you and everyone in the community for helping with and all the tech stuff and supporting the channel . Cheer's my Friend . 🙏🏻
A good and successful maiden flight with a special aircraft, too. I bought my Spit XIV for the same reasons and the same point in the RC learning curve that you bought this beautiful model, Philip. I bet you were quite a bit nervous about this flight, but well done, Sir!
Thanks again Gina . Everyone in the community has been very helpful and supportive of this dream of mine . When I finally did build up the skills and confidence to fly this , finding there was faulty receiver set me back another month . I actually "borrowed" this one from the PITTS 850 and reprogrammed it . I'll find another when I want to fly the Red Devil again and I wasn't particularly happy with HHs pre installed program on that anyway . There's been a few other minor hiccups , but now that the maiden is under my belt I'm raring to go and hoping for many more flights on this . Cheers .
Thanks Wayne , good to know . I went about 6 mins and had 43% left , but they're also new batteries and should get a bit better with a few more charges through them .
Hey Philip, awesome maiden with the sweet E-flite 1.5m P-51 man! Great takeoff, flight and landing which can be a bit of a challenge! She looked great in the Canadian sky! Thumbs up!
Thanks Fred . It means alot to me . This was/is a big one . yeah flight 2 was a bit rough taking off . It so heavy when it starts going sideways on the runway theres no correcting . If it was flat I'd start over to the right hand side , but the crown makes any transition go haywire . lol . Cheers .
Really useful video, thanks for making it. My EV ZLX was left out in the rain and now the main speaker (not the upper) has stopped working. Any tips/suggestions please?
Sorry to hear that , the main speaker alone is approx $250 . But there's also other more costly components like the amp assembly and crossover that could be causing the issue . I suggest testing it with another main speaker to make sure the powered components work properly . if you have to replace anything other than the speaker itself it may not be worth it as it could easily add up to more than the purchase price of a new one . Hope that helps . Thanks for watching . www.fullcompass.com/prod/241708-electro-voice-f-01u-278-396-ev-12-woofer
Very nice flight & landing. I think that's a keeper - maybe you should just keep on flying it. A friend had one, and I always thought it looked like a good plane. You mentioned the 'splat flips' feature. If I had known it had that - I might have gone ahead and bought one ! { Now all you need to do is fly that - and chase it around the sky with your F4U-4 Corsair! I think they make a good size match for each other. }
Thanks JR . Yes , I think it's a keeper . Looks and flys very nice . I talk and try out the split flaps more in the 2nd and 3rd flights . They seem to have more effect on this plane than others . I'd love to see it doing battle with the Corsair . This size is perfect , It's much easier for me to transport and handle the 1 Meter range .
Thanks Frank . The elevator was a bit off . I trimmed out the radio on this flight but then did some mechanical trim to align stuff better on flight 2 . Its a great flyer 👍🏼✈😃
Hey Philip, very nice late evening Spitfire flight and landing! You can't go wrong with a Spitfire, amazing fliers indeed with that beautiful elliptical wing! Thumbs up!
These 192 controllers have problems running moving heads that have a more sophisticated DMX system . Some of the better quality fixtures just won't work on these budget controllers . Maybe check with the moving head brand , it could be in the manual , what controller they recommend ?
@@PhilipCockram they didn't recommend what controller I should use. The controller iam using is called disco 192 it's fairly cheap. The moving heads iam using are pure light muvy wash 18 cheers Phill.
Thanks Gina . Having to push these flights up earlier every day now as the sun set sooner . I'm not a huge fan of LEDs on warbirds either but they do help at this hr . LOL. Cheers
