Great video, would be good not to cut from your full approach to the lane POV. Maybe show 1 full approach then 1 just the lane POV. Kind of hurt my eyes to watch it cut like that
Watching a professional bowler throw a urethane ball is one of the most boring things I've ever witnessed. There's a reason people love to watch individuals like EJ Tackett because they are exciting with what they do with a bowling ball.
I can see how some people call the Max a replacement for the Gem. The House shot will typically never be ideal for a big core/strong cover ball, but could be the only thing that works on the fresh in a tournament with more oil. The two reviewers had to say what they saw, but I think it was a little unfair to throw the ball on conditions that you normally would not use it on...
Interesting how rev rate and style make up rating a bowling ball. For instance I HATE the ion pro. Kyle Sherman says the same even though masses of others think it is an amazing benchmark ball. I just use it as a spare ball in my arsenal. Maybe I need to try it on different patterns.
it really shows the honesty with them, I like Darren but there is just a pattern on his videos of always new balls being the "best". I am this close to get a Ion Max after watching so many clips saying is real good but after watching this video and hearing "this is just too much ball for regular patterns" it really made me think.
for the 2 hander in this video, do u use vacu grips and how deep do you dig your fingers into the ball? do u prefer the ion pro over the phaze 2? what would pair better with the vebo for a house shot league?
All great questions! I do use Vacu Grips and I usually am between my first and second knuckle. As of right now I don’t think I have a preference of the Ion or the Phaze 2. But, I do think the Ion can be used for a longer period of time and is a little bit more versatile on house for myself. The Phaze 2 I feel is always pretty good getting to the pocket but sometimes it’s just a bit too early and leaves a ton of corner pins. I think the last question would vary depending on the building you bowl at. I think if there is quite a bit of early friction I would say the Ion would be the better pair with the Vebo. But if there is more friction down lane then there is in the fronts, then I would go for the Phaze 2. That’s also a really good question to ask your ProShop Operator because they would probably know that building like the back of their hand! Hope this helps!
Hi, I'm a 2 hander and I have yellow grips yo see my ball roll. It's rolling same to yours but when it returns it only has one flare ring. Why is that and how can I fix it
This depends on what ball you're throwing since the diff will (more often than not) show the spread of the flair rings. If you're getting 1 oil ring from a high diff ball, then you will need to drill it to your pap since it's fighting the core.
Would appreciate a series with the different styles, building an arsenal from scratch. Since you are not tied into just one family of brands, I think that would be very helpful, especially to see the difference. Thanks, and keeep up the great work!
After throwing both I like the roll of the Ion. Its like half tick under a Gem but 1.5-2 ticks over the Harsh. The Ion Max will be better on a lot of heavy lane conditions. The Pure Envy is a good house shot ball. I threw the Pure tonight in our sport shot league and its too much for the short pattern but the regular Envy Tour looked great. I'm interested to see how it looks on the longer patterns.
Sorry you didn't dig it. We just try to mix things up for some background music of different varieties. It's only on for a few seconds at a time and muted way down during any speaking parts.

Great work reaching 5K!! Pink slip ball reviews are one of my favorite formats across all the bowling channels I’m subscribed to. I also really enjoy the comparison videos with the detailed specto analysis afterwards!
