drill a small hole next to the hole the wire is going through, use wire cutters to connect the holes and create yourself a bigger hole. 2 seconds to do.
@shadowgamercil You can get to the in-line diode by laying down on the driver’s side floor mat. If you can squeeze your hand through the switch opening even easier but, I struggled with that. It won’t be easy but, it’s do able. And yes, I meant to type in-line diode not in-line fuse. A fuse works but, with the headlights and fog lights on there is a back feed through that gauge cluster and the high beam indicator will very slightly illuminate.
Thanks for posting, same set up in my 72, 3rd is whining ill probably reseal and inspect the tcase while im at it. Any trouble (suggestions) finding parts?
@jjthesavage You can purchase new a bearing kit with included gaskets and seals. You will have a hard time locating snap rings and shims for the output shaft for the rear driveshaft. I wasn’t able to find any new hardware for mine. Be careful not to lose any of the clips. I kept my old bearings because they were fine. My gasket kit however didn’t include all the gaskets so I used permatex aviation form a gasket in place of the gaskets that weren’t available and so far no leaks. If you have any more questions feel free to reach out to me. Hope this helps.
@yourtrashkidyes7363 I don’t know, I’ve never worked on one. I would try to find a schematic if possible or perform a continuity test to verify the fog light wiring is good.
Honestly I don’t know where it is from as my first boss gave it to me. As you can tell I did wire it in to the running lights and I used a 2 pin weatherpack connector so that the grill is easily removable. Also this is technically a in-line diode not an in-line fuse.
Cool I have the same truck. The 5 amp was blown but still not working. I will look inside there hopefully it’s that easy. Was going to buy new lights what started this project. Had to RU-vid how to turn them on 😂.
