Why did you compare a youth model to an adult model? 12 gauge beats both so who cares but seriously to know that Mossberg does make an adult sized 20 gauge right?
For videos your delivery is fine, but on a podcast it's too square too advertisment/commercial mode. it's not human and comfortable it's almost like an audiobook.
I love the top mounted safety! I'm right handed but shoot left handed (I know, I'm weird). That's why my Browning BPS is the ultimate bird gun. Top mounted safety, bottom load and eject, life is good and birds are scared!
In my experience every mossberg i owned had failed me. Rifles and shotgun alike. They didn't even last a season of hunting. Owned many but never going back to mossberg
Love watching your videos to learn more about guns that I’ve never been around or handled. I can’t afford to spend a lot on a shotgun but if I am able to save and get one the information I get from you really helps to make a good decision leaning towards the sx4 or the Mossserg940 pro
It’s hard to believe there are men out there so upset because their cheap gun didn’t get raving reviews. “ I’m not watching any more “. 😂 Are you serious? You’re soft , and unreasonable. I like sigs , and honest outlaw sometimes rags on them . Do I stop watching and cry about it ? No , because we just disagree . I like the majority of his reviews. I just ignore his take on sigs.
I’m curious with how you said it wasn’t the best on recoil did you have the recoil reduced installed in the stock or did you run without it for the video?
* I disregarded that finger pointing fad years ago. I took a gun that fit me well, and experimented with and with out pointing my finger at a distant small object as I shouldered my gun. If anything, I seemed to be more consistent without pointing the index finger of my left hand ( I'm right handed ). A lot of people may be surprised to find that their gun doesn't fit them very well. Try closing the eyes before shouldering a shotgun. After shouldering the gun and opening the eyes, many shooters will find they are not looking squarely down the barrel. Most people can adapt themselves to their gun. This will work alright when target shooting, but when hunting, people do not take the time to get themselves properly aligned with their gun, they just throw the gun to their shoulder and fire. That's why a gun that fits the shooter is so important when considering a gun that's to be used for hunting. The only caveat is that most people that do a lot of shooting can train their body to fit their gun so they will be looking squarely down the barrel in order to address most hunting opportunities that will be presented.
Hmmm I took my Benelli M2 and shot 15 pellets in the duck and 82 % in the 30 inch circle. Shot two inch high and right left perfect. Gun cost 950 $ 20 years ago.
I`m a very beginner in trap, so could you please explain why shouldnt I mount first before calling the pull ? I feel like I can take my time and mount how I feel comfortable before the pull. Whats wrong with that? For the context - I shot only once and I mounted before I call for pull and was able to hit steadily 20+ out of 25 each of three times.so I feel pretty proud, but it took me a while each time I did mount so I figured why urge that and not do that before calling for pull
I’m a sucker for black guns, camouflage is very useful and the walnut is absolutely beautiful. If I had to pick, I’d probably end up in the mental institution. The black looks good with the extended tube. I would probably say black because I would want an extended tube and it would look a little funny on the others but damn that walnut looks good
Purchased the side plate in January and overall it is a fine gun with above average furniture for the price point. Easy action to open and close new when compared to my other 20ga that is still stiff after 1000 rounds. However, I've encountered an issue with some shells from Remington and Winchester with target loads for skeet that prevent the action from closing due to the lower barrel shell hitting the face of the receiver. It appears to be a shell tolerance issue with a thicker rim and one box of Remington's had hulls that were tight going in; enough so that they had to be pushed into the ejectors. Have not experienced this issue with Federal so far. The ejectors have worked perfectly albeit I don't open the action fast enough to pop them out; I'm old and don't like picking up hulls I can catch on the way out.
On the high shooting guns, could you put in a different shim and lower the point of impact? Also, I know Carlson is a sponsor but have you found that they make consistent tubes across platforms? I would like to see you do the same video with each gun's factory chokes.
I'm definitely not as familiar with shotguns, but in terms of balance what about when the magazine is loaded or partially loaded as shots are taken? How does that affect the 'well balanced' shotgun?
The poorest people always cry the loudest (ie. high point, keltec, Taurus owners and .22 self defense guys). Not a knock on the 88 at all. It’s a great gun but it’s a review and someone else’s opinion and it’s not a knock on your manhood or whatever
Good show , love my SA 410 and my element 20. Another one of mine on the list was Affinity 3 - 12 , have used it on clays and ducks . Easy clean and shoot
It 100% works. It’s not for competitions or people that are avid hunters. The best bang for the buck ratio in the market. And anyone that tries to compare them to foreign junk, always finds out in the end that the 88 wins. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It’s a beginners gun, an introduction into shotguns. Great first shotgun for a kid that is going to drag a gun through marshes and timber. Simple, works most of the time easy to fix if or when it breaks.
I wish the 940 pro came with a longer barrel and it could have 28” for skeet and trap. Although the barrels are interchangeable in the 940s, berg won’t sell you just the barrel at the moment.
