This Channel will be primarily sand casting and metal melting, I am also a coin collector. I make items from graphite molds. I use a 3D printer to make items to cast. Stay tuned, I might even do fan suggestions, when I am able too. I primarily work with Aluminum, Brass, Copper and Aluminum Bronze & Nordic Gold. I have melted Cast Iron with my Furnace. Any ideas or comments send me an Email. I have a Facebook page where I add pic of my project, some may or may not be in the videos. facebook.com/thewulf56
Check out my profile on Instagram, I post a lot and some extra stuff of some of my projects there I have a P.O. Box if you want to send a letter or Channel Sticker or something cool.
Take a look at my Website, might something cool on there. Any purchase helps support the Channel.
Is it still alive? After how much using? I have very mixed experience with such cheap chinese stuff. Some great, some not even worth the shipping. Where is such a melter?
Thanks for this, very helpful. What's the lowest temperature this can go to, i need to slowly heat something from 300c to 600c over a few hours, thanks, liked and subbed :)
New scrapper. Couple questions. Did you buy or build your foundry. If bought, could you recommend a brand. And is it worth it for aluminum ingots? Thanks for the time.
I have done both, my bought ones are Devil Forge furnaces, Their furnaces are really good. GAS METAL MELTING FURNACE FB2MB - 10KG is one of the ones I have, been a great furnace.
Have you used mineral oil instead of 2 cycle? I'm at the point now of needing to recycle some and we haven't done much of it. Also, have you ever played with using tile grout sand without the polymers in it as a sand base to start with? It would be finer like delft clay.
No, I never tried mineral oil, only ever used the 2 cycle. They say it is the best substitute to the actual oil used. You can always try it on a small batch and see how it turns out, and make sure it doesn't smoke to much. I did think of trying that sand, but the only issue was trying to find the Bentone to add to the sand, which I just really never got around to doing.
@@thelasvegaskid if you are just removing the oxidation that was on it from when you cast it, a small wire wheel can get into the small gaps, or a bigger one for the whole thing, but to polish it, then you need to sand at many different grit sand papers and then use a buffing wheel with a buffing compound
Heat it up, clean the piece with alchohol or whatever you have to remove greases from it then dip it until it reaches the shade of darkness you want. Leave dark or use fine steel wool and water and brush down the high spots on it. Then seal with a clear coat
Good to see you still around DB. Sorry for the lack of Videos, haven't really felt good enough to make vids or cast much stuff here lately. Take it a day at a time. I hear that garage calling my name everyday.....
Went through some probs myself, think it's what they are calling "long covid" due back at doc office the end of this year. Stay safe, hope things get better.👍👍
Really nice job in this but I was swearing when you dipped it, the copper looks so beautiful but now it's just ugh but still a nice piece. I just love the copper look. Nicely done
