@@ErikDubois Yeah, but waiting is not gonna help me getting Discord to run, does it? I mean, thanks for trying to help, but sometimes its just not that easy. I am new to linux and thank god the repo was only lagging a few hours behind, but what can i do when the repo is lagging behind for days? I dont even know where to extract the freaking .tar!
Hey Eric, I was trying for the past couple weeks since you were posted your first video about Chad WM on two, but I cannot. I can figure it out. I just for some reason your key bindings are not working. Is there something I’m doing wrong or what?
@@ErikDubois so I was wondering if you maybe make a video at some point on how to do it with the key bindings I was trying super enter and all that I mean but nothing is working. I I can click on the bar up top and a browser will open. Let’s just about it that I can do so I was wondering if you could make a video following up on it yeah and I’m currently ubuntu 24
@@ErikDubois thanks I figured it out your tip about sxhkd because when I got your arcolinux-nemesis git and your configs for Ubuntu-chadwm i add sxhkd and one other from your reply I was able to get the key bindings to work
hello erik. i have been using bspwm for the past year and a half, but i want to daily drive gnome and kde. is it okay if i install both, or should i only install only one?
I tried it out in a VM. Solus is nice, but I prefer my ArcoLinux/CHADWM ecosystem. That's the beauty of VMs. I can kick around without smoking my staple setup. Just go back to my favorite setup!
hi there mate, new arch linux user here. i use tplink wifi adapter to connect to internet on my pc. after doing sudo pacman -Syu, everything started to crash and on reboot i got a blinking screen. on checking systemctl and journalctl got to know it was lightdm failed. many suggested to reinstall paxkages, however upon running and install command i keep getting unable to reach the mirror. on running ping i get csnt reach domain..do u have any clue mate
@@ErikDubois Well i fixed the internet issue. But i think my kernels messed up cause I updated from kernel 6.5 directly to 6.10 LMFAO. Soo many broken things, luckily i use it only for development purposes. I'm just reinstalling it at the moment to avoid hassles. I'll update regularly now and then hehe. THank you for reaching out regardless.
Hi Eric! Thanks for the video. It seems fstrim is now on by default on Arco Linux. Is that correct? I installed ArcoPlasma with BTRFS file system recently with Easy installation.
Regarding installation Cosmic DE on KVM Guest it looks like 3D acceleration and OpenGL were not enabled for Virt-Manager run-time session. No guess in case of bare metal setup failure either attempt to work with Virtualbox as virtualization hypervisor ( type 2 )
I might be the only person that uses Gnome on Arco Linux, so thank you for the video. I've been using Arco for my work computer for about 8 months and I love it. The only consistent "issue" I've had is the wallpaper doing goofy shit. The wallpaper will become a small box at the top left corner of the screen after it goes to sleep. Also, the wallpaper disappears and it turns black after plugging in another display and/or removing the display. It doesn't really impact anything. It's just cosmetic. I'm about 90% sure it's just an Arch thing. Anyway, thank you for the videos. I'm constantly referring your videos to people that needs Linux troubleshooting advise.
@@ErikDubois I have not been able to get to work yet I plan on trying in a vm .I have since switched back to windows 11 home and I plan also plan on here in October to get my dad’s all in one monitor for a 2nd computer as my dad plans on either building a computer or buying a laptop for him so I can have a computer for Linux and one for windows
I've been running the beta Cosmic in another partition of my hard drive and been enjoying it, although I can't see it being ready to install on Arch (yet), someday....lol
I have Arco Linux with Hyprland and the Zen kernel because it is the one that is giving me the best performance, but it does not recognize my pendrive, any solution?
Another great video and i know its a very old video but instead of using $1 i use - < append to a filename.txt so i aint typing 10 packages after a function lol. But i be learning off your scripts and i was going through more current scripts and i was wondering why you use a list=() in a for loop and other times just continuing doing sudo pacman -S --noconfirm --needed and package name. Like thats alot to write so why dont you use a file?
@@ErikDubois it's all personal preference but im recommending using a file instead of a list() in a for loop calling a function to get your packages to install just like archiso. And alls you have to do is edit the file obviously lol removing packages would be the same.
