I am currently flying a Junior. This is all good advice - thank you. . . I find that I have to keep my 'standard circuit' short with the base leg in line with the start of the runway - in that way the headwind won't give any nasty surprises. I'd prefer to be too close and too high on final approach as the Junior has masive air brakes and you can also side slip in if you totally over cook it. . In essence - I know how to get rid of height and energy.... but I can't gain height in a strong headwind on final.
Oskar! Hallo!
A cloud indicates uplifting warm air. Air can carry a lot of water in form of steam. The warmer the air is the more water it can absorb. The sun warms the ground, the ground warms the air directly above. At a certain point, this layer of air becomes so warm that it rises. Like a bubble or a stream. On its way up the air cools down and loses 1 degree celsius per 100 m. Cold air can carry less water and at some point the air gets so cold, that the carried water has to go somewhere. It condensates - and a cummulus cloud developed. Therefore these thick clouds indicating lets say "enegry gas stations" for gliders. Good glider pilots can read clouds, the wind and the goundstructure.
Is that a junior? Ive been flying k8 lately t our club and i need 15 more solo hours untill i get to fly this plastic princess. What is it like to fly?
Easy to fly, very agile, hard to stall, you can circle with 80 Km/h on a radius of plate s to say. Huge and very effective air brakes! PZL has made a very beginner friendly little plane. Perfect for the first steps into cross country. BUT: In falling air the Junior drops like a rock. Recently I barley made it back to my airfield. I was at 320 meters, the field was in sight, around 700 meters away as the air fell with +3 m/s. Within these 700 meters I lost +/- 170 meters altitude.
Hi Mike, I use the "Insta 360 One X2", a 360 degree cam. The perfect cam for almost everything. Just hit the record button and reframe it later, My choice for the cockpit, www.insta360.com/
Wie kann man denn die Bremse lösen. Da steht "Zum Start die Bremse lösen" Aber alle Keys bezüglich Brake/Bremse usw. Sowie auf maximal halten funktioniert irgendwie nicht.
Man I first thought this was at my club. This is what I was doing about 2 weeks ago in an ASK21 too. Been doing this for 10 years (still doesn't get old). But your footage is simply out of this world!!! I love the sharp turn at the end and how your camera goes onto to film the sky. FANTASTIC !!
Mark, thank you so much for your kind words! The Insta 360 X2 is my camera of choice shooting inflight. Just hit record and frame it later. Where do you fly?
@@markplain2555 Hi Mark, sorry for the late answer! Just taken a look at google maps. Well it seems around Sosa you're not getting in trouble when it comes to outlanding opportunities :) Its the same over here. My club is located in Hamburg-Boberg 15 km SE from the international airport EDDH. The north of Germany is very flat. The typical cross country route goes east towards Berlin and west to the Harz the most northerly mountain range in Germany.
Hi Paolo, sorry for me late answer. Yes 3 of them is a bit overdone :) The plane belongs to my club an is used for training only. I guess there was an empty slot in the panel an they had a vario as an unsed spare part.... Happy landings!
That was awesome flight video with the instructions. It’s funny as airplane pilot I try to stay away from under the dark clouds but you seem to look for them for lift lol.
I want to go to glider school to learn how to fly one because aviation is my dream and be coming a pilot is what i want and this video helped me understand a lot
@henryluebberstedt7819 alright, I thought it was my club. I'm currently trying to get to go solo at the moment, but gliding gotta be one of the best hobbies
Hi Kevin. This red string is for glider pilots a most important indicator. The sting shows from what direction the air stream hits the plane. Keeping the string more or less in the middle (even in turns) is the goal. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaw_string
