Thank you for checking in on my channel. Here you will find some mixed content. I'm shooting what's comes to mind. Mostly, it's my travels and some own tests of lens and camera equipment. I have previously worked on an advertising agency as Art Director but I am now retired. At the age of fifteen, I acquired an 8 mm movie camera. At that time sound, color correction and grading could not be done with the equipment I had. It was simply not possible to have access to expensive professional editing equipment for an amateur if you did not have a lot of money. Sometimes I tried to put sound to a tape recorder that was always out of sequence. It did not feel fun anymore to be limited by the missing technology, so I lost my interest. But then came the camcorder and the ability to edit in the computer. Then a whole new world opened for me, and I was running again. Now I had access to the same editing capabilities as the pros and now it has become fun.
Great results! I've been using this lens on Nikon Z6 for a couple of years and it's great. Unfortunately, it's not the fastest as far as focusing is concerned. I've missed lots of great shots, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with this lens. Thanks for sharing! A new friend here 🤝😊
how did you actually got these birds in focus? i am not able to shoot sharp my coffeemaker 6 meters away, sharpening with rotating ring awakens my seasickness :P
I used a reasonably stable tripod mounted on the camera. But you must not touch the camera during filming. The slightest shake of the camera is magnified. First set the focus, press the record button then do not touch the camera while filming.
@@benkelino yeah i know the principles, but problem is how to set the focus withough touching camera ;) Maybye i've gave up too fast and just got away with "as sharp as it can be". srsly, maybye it's my tripod being lame, but every step on the floor shakes image :/
Of course, you have to touch the camera when focusing. What I mean by that lens is that it is almost impossible to focus without it shaking while the camera is recording. It is a disadvantage that there is no image stabilization in the lens. I hope you get the sharpness and enjoy the lens anyway.
A great video Bengt! The 7D and Magic Lantern worked well for this video. I will be bringing my 5D MK II loaded with Magic Lantern so hopefully I will get some good weather and good shots like you! Thanks for sharing, and hi from British Columbia, Canada!
Det funkade faktiskt! 😍 Tack så jättemycket, höll på att få panik då jag inte hade en pincett/fästinglasso hemma och apoteken ännu inte öppnat. Livräddare! 🥰
@@benkelino wow, the image is sublime. i dont understand most pictures/videos i see from other people are all blurry and of low quality. is there a trick to get got image out of this lens? i ordered one i have not received it yet.
Yes why. 1. Sony 200-600mm was not for sale when the video was recorded. 2. Sony 200-600mm is twice as expensive as Sigma 200-600mm. But if you have a large wallet, buy a Sony 200-600mm. 😉
This is some spectacular work, well done! Most reviews of mirror lenses are in the style of "So I hiked up here but I didn't bring my tripod, let's see how the lens does!" It's really amazing what you've achieved even with the rather unique bokeh.
Whats your experience wih autofocus on video? I have heard both good and bad reviews of the combination of this lens and the mc-11 for afc. Great video!
Thanks so much! Af with that set is not as fast as one would like. In this video I have only used manual focus and it works quite well I think. It may be a little slower to get the sharpness that can be seen in some scenes in the video. But it is something you can practice getting faster. If you expect a quick Af then this solution is not the best unfortunately. However, I am very pleased with the image quality of this lens.
@@benkelino I take this opportunity to invite you to follow "Azores, What Else", both here on RU-vid, as on Instagram and other social networks. Best regards. 🙏
@@benkelino That's what I suspected, you did a wonderful job, how good is the continues AF of that sigma paired with the a6300? I am considering getting that lens for my a6300
This looks great. Just ordered a 2nd hand sigma 150-600 for my a7iii to use with an mc-11, looking forward to seeing the results. Did you use auto focus much or most manual focus?
Thanks! I almost always use manual focus. Auto focus is slightly too slow and a ticking sound is heard from the lens. The sharpness is absolutely outstanding. You will surely enjoy the lens.
Hej!
Hello Bengt, you cut a nice story from excellent bird scenes. Well focused, nice bokeh! And to top it all: your video sound! ... Great! Greetings to Sweden Hej Bengt, du klipper en fin berättelse från utmärkta fågelscener. Väl fokuserad, fin bokeh! Och för att toppa allt: ditt videoljud! ... Bra! Hälsningar till Sverige Josef
Thanks so much for your kind words Josef! My warmest greetings to Germany! Vielen Dank für deine freundlichen Worte Josef! Meine herzlichsten Grüße an Deutschland!
Sorry for it took so long to answer your question. Maybe this lens. Very cheap for what it does. www.amazon.com/Tamron-18-400mm-3-5-6-3-Digital-Warranty/dp/B072YT9KXW
Thank you very much for sharing this interesting video about professional filming 👍 Your channel is fantastic 😊 I discovered your channel via your brother's channel. Have a nice day ❄ Best regards
Wow, what a beautiful cave 👍 I can see the face, but I wouldn't have seen it without your hint. Thank you very much for editing and sharing this interesting video. Best regards
Vilket professionellt reportage, Bengt. Bra filmat och fantastisk klippning. 10 poäng. Brorsan. What a professional report, Bengt. Well filmed and fantastic cut. 10 points. Brother.
This footage looks great--much better than any other footage from the same camera + lens combo. Two questions: what is causing the slight vignetting? Is this shot in 4k as well?
I have used a tripod but not a world-class tripod. You are probably referring to some shaky images. The ground in that area was soft and muddy in some places. If you just rub the tripod a little, it shakes and the shaking is greatly enlarged with 1800mm focal length. (600 x 1.5 crop factor plus the Sony camera´s 2x Clear Image Zoom = 1800) Even a little breeze makes the tripod shake. Filming the handheld with that lens is a major challenge. 😊
Hello Bengt, again an interestingly cut video with good soundscape! Great class, how you cut the dancers exactly to the background music at the end of the video! Hej Bengt, återigen en intressant klippt video med bra ljudbild! (Paddling, steg, blixt ...) Bra klass, hur du klippte dansarna i bakgrundsmusiken i slutet av videon! Hälsningar från Tyskland till Sverige Josef :-)
