Great balcony views. It would be good to know the condition of the secure garage and if that includes any secure storage. And any common areas or HOA fees. Imo, 50k euros ($56k USD) seems a tad much for such a small space, but since coastal Calabria looks like it's becoming pricier by the month, I suppose this may still be a good deal for whoever buys it.
Simply awesome! The views, the colors used inside, everything.. Question-there is a big area of vacant land next to the villa, do you know if who owns it and may there be houses/apts etc built there that would block the view.
Thank you so very much for the insight on legal costs. I will be attending a conference hosted by International Living magazine. Something called "How to Retire Overseas." I suspect the worst.
H Stephen! Great that you are attending a workshop. It sounds super interesting. You can scroll through the channel and find some more great videos with information specific to Italy. Good luck!
I saw this property a while ago for sale on a real estate website. I am surprised it hasn’t sold. The tile work and the beautiful terracing alone makes it worth the asking price. There is even an area a person could put an above ground small pool or jacuzzi if they wanted.
Chris, you really need to place a "warning" on some of your videos. I was eating and almost choked, when a minute in there was the shot of the terrace with the ocean and island in the background. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
HI Michael, This is stunning! No worries, there are properties in all price ranges and if you are not averse to a little renovation you can find something really nice.
Love it! A great divider wall would be a glass block wall. That would allow lots of light but is a great way to divide 2 spaces. You could actually do that both up and downstairs. Just a suggestion but keeps it nice and light. Ciao, Tina for Alabama
This is fantastic, Chris. I love the idea of having not just a translator, but also someone who is knowledgeable in the Italian real estate process. One resource from beginning to end & beyond.
I haven't seen too many of your pieces but each one has a marked improvement. I love the colours in this pieces. She looks so peaceful. Beautiful work. ❤
So wonderful to see our two beautiful friends together on this video. Lucia is amazing at her job…a true asset for everyone in need of her great services. Love to you both xoxo J&M
J&M I saw your recommendation of Lucia on your channel. It is nice to see multiple recommendations for the same person. It confirms her how good she is. By the way I miss you guys on you tube. Xoxo
Lucia is an amazing resource whether you are just starting out on your house hunting journey or if you’ve already purchased. I wish she was offering these services when we purchased. Since then she’s been an incredible partner and has helped us immensely post-purchase and post-renovation with getting the house in livable condition. You can be assured that no detail will be missed. I can’t recommend her enough and I wish her the best with this new endeavor. We’ll certainly continue to tap into her expertise.
Hi Chris great information. Yes Lucia is correct. I bet I have had that happen. Trying to contact an ITALIAN REALTOR while I was in Southern Italy. I don't speak Italian well enough and they probably don't speak english either. Then they just do not get back to us. That makes sense. Time is important. Having enough time. The time businesses are closed between 1 and 4 pm is challenging as well. Great service Lucia. I just bought a small bolt hole in Abruzzo. Had to do the Apostilled documents in order for the realtor to have power of attorney to do the closing. I close Wednesday. COMMUNICATION is so important for those of us that do not speak the language well enough. FANTASTIC! Thanx for this. It will help lots of people. I am looking forward to getting back I am still looking for a flat in Scalea area. Cheers. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Italy/Portugal
@@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC It's not an easy thing and not for everyone. Those who educate themselves will do better instead of finding out so many things later. Thanx for all of your information. I know it helps lots of people
Chris, it's hard to understand why you and I cannot connect via email. I've sent numerous emails (some requested, others to follow up) with no reply. If you indeed know of a notary that is prepared to take on a transaction for a Canadian to purchase a property in Italy under the reciprocity guideline PLEASE PLEASE be so kind as to make the connection. If required I will pay you a finders fee! At the very least kindly respond to my email messages
Puglia is so beautiful ! I we went there some years ago to Otranto with its lagoon inside the town, Lecce, Santa Maria di Leuca, at the sanctuary di Santa Maria di Finibus where it is told that there is big stone where San Paulo or San Pietro sat down...I am sure you will have a good time there, enjoy and be blessed in all your projects ❤
Hello there my parents are Italian I have an Italian passport I’ve been to Italy many times but I’ve never lived there ! my wife is American we want to but a home in the next couple years or so so what will I have to prove?
If you have an Italian passport you are all good. These visas do not apply to you. Your wife may have to get an immigrant visa but it is a lot simpler than en elective residence visa
I love your practical advice. Esp with the experience you and your husband had (someone burned their car guys)…that you love your life and have made real connections…just shows there are difficulties everywhere nothing is perfect in life. And yet it is apparent you are thriving and happy! We just bought a condo in Scalea we will see for the first time next month. (I know terrible idea 😂) also a small condo in uk. Both are already good investments. I did for a moment entertain fantasies about ditching our bay area lives and bopping between Italy and uk And we might do that but because we want to not bc we hate our life in one place and believe a better life is someplace else. Anyway I love how practical yet optimistic you are. Thanks and have a great day!
