In Florida you can't trust every police department about tickets. You probably have heard of notorious speed traps. Hampton, Lawtey and world famous Waldo.Two of these departments were shut down by the governor. All because if bad tickets. I could not have a good driving record in these areas unless I went 5 under the speed limit.
I would say no to laser .Only for the reason of 16 mph over and you didn't get pulled .Another thing I don't believe you set your cruise 16 over posted speed on a empty highway with no rabbits in sight.
Randy Johnson I have been running like that with radar all my driving life. That is why I buy top line radar. I look to only have to brake under 70 to be safe. Btw I have another one doing 80 and got hit with ka on same road. I Travel that road six days a week nine hundred miles a week going back and forth to work.

I'm 54 got my first detector in 86 an escort .Got my bonded sti driver (Magnum) in March 07.I bought 2 9500i in July 07 .I got a Redline in 12 and a R1 5 weeks ago. No tickets or wrecks since 1978 and no chance I would have a perfect driving record if I set my cruise 16 MPH over with no rabbits. How old did you say you were?What was your first detector? How is your driving record? And I got a max in 14 as a interstate detector
Randy Johnson lol I did say driving life. I am 53 years old and have been driving like that . I have not received a ticket in many years ( knock on wood) in fact the last ticket with radar was in 90 if I am correct doing 95 on interstate 95 going north to a family reunion. If I didn't back out just before then I would have gotten one for 105mph or close depending on what he captured, then he was so into the radar that I had I don't believe he got me at that. He then took me to his car and there was nothing on the radar and ticket me for 84 and tried to hit my radar when I was in his car but I had it off. He also commented about me picking up my front bumper off the ground lol. Most leo's let you get up to ten on most hwy's. Btw it was an escort radar I had then can't remember with one but it cost me for that radar.
There is no need for a radar if you drive only 10 over and under. I also had the 9500, a beltronic 995 . I believe that was it , redline, Valentine V1 and have the r3 now which I could have gotten away the R1 because my area here only use ka band.
